Well he has coached at MSU before so he has experienced it and knows that it is also a pressure cooker.
He's done well at UK. I'm just not a fan of his personality. Winning would fix my useless opinion pretty quickly though if he wound up here. Which I don't expect.

This is probably the safest approach to the search as a MSU fan.
We just don't typically make a splash hire which could be the equivalent of plucking a sitting HC. It's possible but I just don't see us doing it.
I wouldn't be upset about either Elander or Coggin. And in that order.
This is a massive hire for "Selmon". As all of the SEC is seemingly paying attention to baseball all of a sudden. If he screws this up and sends us spiraling with a poo poo hire we will get passed in the current form of baseball.

Ehhh... I think there may be a mix
With only one piece of hardware it's hard to claim blueblood status. We've been good and good for a long time but mainly when no one else cared other than LSU.
Things have changed now and we definitely have more history and a better pedigree that most teams in the SEC but I wouldn't quite claim blue blood status. We check a lot of boxes though.

It's gotten very easy to not gaf.
If Lemonis isn't fired after this season you won't be able to convince me that our administration even cares about being competitive.
I think Lebby will show some improvements but we just never will compete in football in the NIL era.
Basketball did what we all expected them to do I guess.

We close the season with Mizzou. This will surely affect our post season even with a sweep.
I don't see us getting to 13 though. We could even be the team to slip up and give Mizzou a win which would obviously tank our post season options.
All that said, we don't deserve a spot in the post season. Need to just end it and get the firing/hiring process done asap so new coach can start shopping the portal.

I’d try some head coaches that will likely tell us no and then go the assistant route.

This team is out here dropping routine fly balls while trying to mount a come back.
The 3rd base coach is waving players around after the ball has already been thrown home.
Our base running is absolutely horrible. Several other time we nearly got caught with our pants down on the base paths.
Hell, Lemonis tried to get the team fired up at the end and get on the ump about a non-call and couldn’t even get himself ejected.

Most of our losses have come from sloppy play or terrible base running decisions. Whether it’s the player or Cheese at 3rd making terrible calls for the runners. And that’s not new this year unfortunately.
I’m not sure I’ve seen a team with so many dumb, lazy errors as we’ve had this year. Also, not new this year either.
Lemonis just isn’t a good coach if he doesn’t have a bunch of self starters on his squad and he is incapable of making a well rounded team.

No. It’s actually the worst SEC start in school history!
He can’t put a team together and evaluations aren’t worth a damn. Strikes out in the transfer portal and has zero excitement in the program.
We suck and fundamental base running and defense all around. Haven’t had a catcher that was worth a damn since Logan Tanner on the championship team.
Zero leadership or team accountability.
It’s like he thinks he’s managing a minor league team.
He MUST go. Until then we will co to ue to have a shite product and get softer and softer.
