Who is dwan mathis ,serious question. Must be a Freshman or redshirt freshman, because when fromm got hurt in the sec championship game, Stetson Bennett came in..I think yall need to hope that jt gets healthy because relying on a guy with zero experience is gonna be scary. You just don't know what he will do under pressure

He was the first QB to go with the 1s in the scrimmage last weekend.
You are confusing "practicing" and cleared for contact. I promise you. No QB in the SEC is getting contact right now.

Maybe I was unclear but I was saying even with Newman leaving the qb depth chart is better compared to last year when it was Fromm, Stetson Bennett, then a walk on.

Yes, he is. He played in the scrimmage Saturday and is very likely to be cleared for full contact very soon.

The timing of this announcement is definitely peculiar. By all accounts Newman had not separated himself from the other QBs in camp. He had more experience so everyone thought he had the inside track for the job and I am sure he did.
For the record I don't think covid had anything to do with this decision.
