Utah just because like I said., you are not going to take just one school at a time any more like with arky back in the day .

Arkansas joined the SEC the same year South Carolina did (1990).

Big 12 is going to get the four corner schools.

I still have to believe that at least Oregon and Washington, probably with Stanford, end up in the Big Ten.

Then the PAC leftovers will backfill with the best bits of the MWC.

The B1G will decide the fate of the PAC-12. Big 12 should go after Oregon, Washington, Colorado, and Arizona State or do nothing. PAC-12 needs a couple of schools, but there isn’t much out there. I think both conferences are better off staying with what they have.

Big 12 is adding schools that won’t help them survive.

The 12 needs to drop WV and UC and go get AZ, AZ State, Utah, Colorado while they can.

This. Except drop Central Florida too. Losing Ok and Tx puts B12 at 8. Replaced with Byu and Houston back at 10. then add Zona, Zona St, Utah, and Utah St and B12 is a solid 14 team conference. Even keeping Cent Florida and WV and UC, they would have a solid 16 team conference. Central Florida has no business in there.

I’ve been thinking about it…..

The merger wouldn’t be a bad conference.
The Merged Big12/PacW conference in two divisions
BigPacWest——-
Oregon
Washington
Stanford
Cal
Arizona
ASU
Wsu
OreSt

BigPacEast——-
Baylor
Tcu
OkState
Colorado
Utah
KSU
Kansas
Texas tech

Iowa State should go big10 and get rid of Rutgers.

i think in the end, B12 survives

not sure when it happens, but i think next round of playoffs, they put in must be in a conference and that leads to

Oregon, washington- will be big 10 first
ND joins with stanford later

big 12- take the 4 corner schools

Sec takes clemson, 2 NC schools, VT, virginia, fsu, maimi plus 1 other

end up with 3 24 team conferences. everything sucks dick like all this expansion does and eventually you see a break down back to 6 12 team conferences.

Big 12 will become new best of g5 conference. If the acc doesn’t get completely gutted the best available move would be trimming fat from acc and pac and having an Atlantic and pacific division that only had one cross over game a year. But that’s assuming the acc can withstand what’s eventually coming

Best thing the PAC and B12 can do is pick the best 12 - 16 teams and ditch the rest. This will not happen as neither has leadership with half a brain.

Big 12 has a new tv deal. Pac is struggling to get a decent one (read that they are actually looking at going streaming only).

If pac continues to struggle to get a deal, those pac schools considering leaving that can't get into the big 10 might bail (Arizone, ASU)

Someone in this thread said that the ACC is in a great position.

Not sure why and I don’t follow grant of tv rights etc.

So which is it?

ACC in a good position?
ACC in a bad position?

If the B1G and SEC decide to expand a bit more, the ACC is done. They both can just wait out ACC’s current Grant of Rights and then each conference take 2-4 teams in 2036. At that point, the assumption is expansion would be done and you’d have your super leagues.

TCU
Texas Tech
Colorado
Utah
Iowa State
Oklahoma State

Baylor can rot in hell for all the rape and crookedness

FIFY

Run it as (2) 8 conference set ups with cross scheduling to make it a P4 conference combined. End of the season the PAC plays Big for a CCG to send the winner to the CFP (assured spot) but play the CCG on the home field of the best regular season record.

Tech + Az + ASU all used to be in toe old Border Conference together so they have some history

Who knows, but I think the SEC and Big 10 will have round two of expansion at some point in the future.

I got this impression after listening to Sankey on Finebaum last Friday. It'll probably involve plucking some teams from the ACC.

For example Clemson, Florida State, North Carolina to the SEC. Pitt, Syracuse, Notre Dame to the B1G. Or something like that.

There's no telling.

The talking heads keep saying the B1G and SEC will raid the ACC, but if they are right, ask yourself why it has not happened yet?

SECN is in Charlotte, not ATL or other SEC city
ESPN folks in front of the camera are lots of ACC alumni
ESPN folks behind the camera are lots of ACC alumni

When we had 6, the ACC should have been the first to die but they are still here, so ask yourself why all the B1G and SEC fanboys have been so wrong for roughly a quarter of a century?

Only long term logical reason ...

#1 ACC and SEC have history with each other going back to the beginning
#2 ACC and SEC are both ESPN
#3 ACC and SEC were united against B1G and PAC when the CFA formed

SEC firewalls the ACC to keep the B1G from poaching the ACC

Since the BCS in 98 through the CFP
1999 Florida State wins
2001 Miami wins (now ACC)
2013 Florida State wins
2017 Clemson wins
2019 Clemson wins

3 schools

B1G has only had (1) in Ohio State

What's funny is when the Big 12 and Pac 12 start getting their conference champion in the 12 team dance more often than Oklahoma, the shorthorns, and USC. The truth is, with 12 teams, it's almost a guarantee.
I don't think it will be that common, but even if it is, I will be fine with that as long as when OU does get in they win, rather than getting run out of the building, which is what will likely happen to them.

Cincy played in the Playoffs last year and NY6 Bowl the year before that

UCF has been to multiple BCS/NY6 Bowls the last decade

BYU has been down for a couple years, but has been pretty much consistently good with a national following

What do you define as "bad programs?"
