We actually have a precedent to this…..The Big East. It tried to stay in survival mode after losing VT & Miami. The Big East is no more. And it seems the Big12 is imitating that by adding bad programs. But it is a survival grab.

For now you have this:

The obvious issues:

1. West Virginia is a sojourner that needs to find a local home. ACC seems perfect but the want is not reciprocated.
2. ND “has” a home in the ACC. Who knows what they will do. They have three options.
Stay indy, Big 10 or ACC.
3. Oregon and Washington seem to be the next to make a decision. They offer clout. Stanford could be the third but do they really care about football? I don’t know.
4. Colorado was on life support but Deion, I suppose, puts them back in sub-critical condition. They can still go 4-8 but still pull recruits for the next 4 years.
5. Utah and TCU are actual producers that survived their GO5 pasts. Interesting to see where they end up.
6. Baylor and OksT seem to produce but how do they factor?
7. KSU, TTU, OreSt, WSU all can produce but this looks like musical chairs for them.

Keep in mind. The ACC seems to be in a tight spot as well.

Here’s a blank.

Sec prob going to take Colorado eventually that seems obvious

But you add 2 teams at a time nowadays so maybe Utah and just kill the pac I suppose…

I feel like the Big 12 raids and gets a few schools like Colorado, Utah, Memphis, Boise etc. Don't feel like they're going down any time soon, they seem stable and are in the position to take a G5 school

The Pac-10 is just dead

The 12 needs to drop WV and UC and go get AZ, AZ State, Utah, Colorado while they can.

PAC is definitely dead.

CU no idea what happens to them. Back to the b12 makes the most sense.

I am wondering about Kansas. They are AAU and maybe they are in the plans for either the Big10 or SEC next round? They are dumping money into modernizing their football stadium. If they stabilize as a .500 football team - they already make decent money off of basketball- would this make them attractive enough to the SEC?

Can you explain?

I have a non-sourced idea that the sec will not venture past the central time zone.

I have only an idea about that though.

If this was a steel cage death match, my money would certainly be on the Big XII, but I'm not sure it will come down to that. I think the Big XII is on more stable footing, but I doubt that their position is strong enough to lure any Pac-12 teams unless that league just totally implodes (which could happen, but hasn't yet).

I don't see Colorado being first to leave the Pac-12; that's where they have always wanted to be, and they get a lot of their students from California. Besides, they really bring very little to the table. They are overshadowed by the Broncos, who cast one of the longest shadows in the NFL (they dominate Denver and the RM region in a way that other NFL teams do not), and, outside Denver, there's a lot of empty spaces around CU.

Utah probably will be happy to be in a different conference from BYU, as long as there is no compelling economic reason for them to jump.

The Arizona schools look to California, like CU, and don't want to recreate the old Border Conference that they once shared with Texas Tech.

Oregon and Washington would be somewhat attractive if they were located in the Midwest -- in the Pacific Northwest, they just don't bring enough to be worth the trouble.

I think Washington and Oregon have enough juice for the big10.

The big10 is already in the west coast so why not add two more good brands.

they are going to make a mockery of what the conferences use to be is my feeling, especially the sec and b10 dont care about anything but money

Getting some school like Colorado to pair up with tranny vandy will raise the profile of the sec

Utah just because like I said., you are not going to take just one school at a time any more like with arky back in the day .

I dont think they want like NC STATE and Clemson maybe I am wrong however but I think they go west for prestige I bet central HQ is tired of getting laughed at as a bunch of dumb southern hicks

see what I wrote above a lot of its guesswork and speculate but I think the twats running the show are going to feel pressure from UT-Autism and tranny vandy to elevate the conference

The B1G already explored this and OR/WA would be dilutive for them.

The B12 has the right to renegotiate with Fox/ESPN if they add additional P5 schools, and adding OR/WA would definitely improve on the 31m deal they have now.

They have been in the ACC for a decade now, as the old Domers die off it will become a formality

ACC was dead man walking before the first realignment. they are in the catbird seat now. Still don't get why most folks don't see this?

Best thing the PAC and B12 can do is pick the best 12 - 16 teams and ditch the rest. This will not happen as neither has leadership with half a brain.
