There's a good chance Tenner would've been the #1 seed in the West had they beaten us. Not that Texas Tech is a pushover but still.

Yep. Likely difference in final 4 last 2 seasons is securing that 1 seed. It’s a pretty big statistical difference. You hope the bracket might open up and it wouldn’t matter.

Let's see Georgia made one Final 4 in the 80s and the Dawgs have something like 7 or 8 NCAA Tournament wins in its history. I'll take Tennessee basketball ALL DAY over Georgia. For the record, in the 162 games played between the two schools, Tennessee leads the all-time series 100-62.

The 83 NC State documentary Survive and Advance goes through all of their miracle wins in the tourney. One slight detour was UGA in the FF matchup where they basically said "oh yeah, and we didn't have much trouble with UGA." Ouch.
