From a Neal McReady tweet: "What will happen? Again, no one knows. On Friday night alone, I talked to one national media member (no, not Dan Wolken) who said he believes Lewis’ recruiting is ultimately going to result in devastating sanctions against both Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Another national media member (again, not Wolken) said he believed the COI was not happy with the enforcement staff for putting them in this position. Finally, a person with intimate knowledge of the case continued to wonder if Lewis might simply not show up in Covington, allowing all sides to basically walk away from this entire saga with a modicum of victory and a minimum of fallout."

I really hate to be the one to break this to you. Not a single media person has said any of those things to anybody.

So Ole Miss is fine with a decade long recovery from crippling sanctions along as they drag Mississippi State along.

Not an unreasonable position. Depends entirely on what supporting evidence may exist regarding state. In the Alabama/Albert Means case there was evidence to include sworn courtroom testimony that no less than FIVE schools (Bama, UK, Arkansas, UGA, and Memphis) gave illegal inducements to Means' coaches. Bama and UK were sanctioned but the rest skated.

Pulled straight out his arse. Situations like this one aren't unique to this case at all. Further, the COI consists of people that have operated at a very high level (university presidents, head coaches, etc) and outside attorneys. They've spent their entire careers making decisions in positions others might think are difficult.

Tell Barney that's not happening. He wants to play college football and advance to the NFL. He'll absolutely be there.

I thought UK was sanctioned as a result of means, but not directly because of means. meaning because of means they found more bad stuff. I may be wrong though

Here's what the NCAA is willing to negotiate with OM

Good thing the media doesn't get to decide.

Lang said Kentucky gave him several thousand dollars. I honestly don't remember if that's what the NCAA hung them on or not. It could have well been just what got the camel's nose under the tent.

That was a long time ago - a time that I'd like to forget but these damned Rebs keep bringing it back to mind by acting exactly like we did.

would be hilarious, i'll give you that, but OM is getting hammered. it's gonna hurt and I'd imagine we see very few OM fans on the rant for a while

Instead of standing there with your eyes wide open, bracing for impact, you guys have decided to bury your heads in the sand...I have to give it to you.

That's been the best parts of the Godfrey article:

-It brought our several OM posters who haven't had the sack to stand beside Gnash and WhereIsOmaha and a few others and fight for OM's case

-It buries the whole "big brother" persona that OM posters have tried to advance. Y'all can't argue for being Big Bro when you obviously take such great joy at even the thought of MSU getting pinched

-This puts to bed the lies that OM posters have spewed about not following Yancy and SpiritChuck. The entire Godfrey article was a collaboration of the most popular OM conspiracy threads on the Spirit, literally. Godfrey was the one smart enough to spin them together but all of those fantasies have their origin on the OMSpirit, mostly from the fertile mind of Yancy Porter

Nope, it's gonna suck bigtime. But, might as well take them down with us if we can.
