2016 started off great for the Bears. They managed to fall into a Sugar Bowl berth with only 9 wins and capped it off with a win against an outmatched Ok St.
Next came NSD which quickly became the biggest day in OM sports that most of their fans can remember as they signed a top 10 class and the number 1 quarterback in the nation.

All was looking up for the Bears, but as their entire fan base (along with most of America) tuned in to the NFL draft in hopes of their program making history, everything began to fall apart.

Tunsil goes full retard and keeps a video of himself doing his best Darth Vader impersonation alllowing it to get posted to his twitter. As if that wasn't bad enough, he also kept messages confirming he received impermissible benefits from coaches and the assistant AD himself. But just in case that was not proof enough that OM was pulling shady shite, Tunsil confirmed in an interview after he was selected (10 spots later than projected) that he received money from coaches.

Thus opens a brand new investigation by the NCAA even though the previous case had still yet to be closed.

Even with all the uncertainty surrounding the program with the NCAA, there is one cure that fixes everything, and that is winning. Staged with a top 11 preseason ranking and a heisman hopefull QB (LOL) the Rebs were primed to make a run at the SECc and playoff appearance, in their minds at least.

Boy, would that come crashing down as the Bears go on to blow multiple 21 point leads throughout the season while getting manhandled by Vandy. To add insult to injury, the Bears became one of only two teams not to make a Bowl game due to a 55-20 raping and for having a team IQ of a crouton.

The off-season would be no better for the Rebs. They clean house (completely unrelated to the NCAA investigation, of course) and end up hiring two unproven coordinators after whiffing on their 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th options.

They're off season woes wouldn't end there. Just as all hope seems lost, the Bears get a shine of light from Mississippi's own 5* and top RB, Cam Akers. Not sure why, but something led OM fans to believe he was all but theirs. The light wouldn't last long as Cam trolled the Bears and leaves the OM hat sitting at the Mississippi HOF.

2016 has been a HELL of a year, but something tells me 2017 will be even better.
