It’s funny, there are many games I’m disappointed or frustrated by—I mean, I’ve been a UGA fan—but one of the kind simplicities of cheering for a team not being at the top, to me, was a lack of real anger after a loss.

Turns out the entitlement that comes with success is an ugly thing.

I was surprised how actually angry I was after the 2023 SECCG watching Bobo go into his classic turtle mode and piss the game away with his playcalling. There was also entitlement amongst the players as well, watching them not execute. And finally, realizing how psyched-out Kirby is/was by Saban. Just a perfect storm of all the demons I’d thought we’d exorcised.

Other candidates:
2019 Sugar Bowl v. Texas
2019 SECCG v. LSU
2008 v. Bama

Disappointed/frustrated: too many to count

2006 Auburn. What a shite show job of officiating. Yes an LSU fan complaining about the officiating.

Tough call between the Interception Game vs Auburn ...

"Auburn was on a 14-game winning streak when LSU traveled to Auburn in 1994, but it was LSU who led 23–9 entering the fourth quarter. LSU quarterback Jamie Howard threw five fourth quarter interceptions—three were returned for touchdowns—as Auburn extended their winning streak to 15 games with a 30–26 win. Auburn made one first down in the second half, yet scored 27 points in the comeback."

and the game the following week vs the Gamecocks...

"Oct. 1, 1994 – South Carolina 18, LSU 17: After throwing three pick sixes at Auburn the game before, Jamie Howard is limited to just 7 of 16 passing for 53 yards with two interceptions and two fumbles. Stanley Pritchett’s 1-yard blast on fourth-and-goal is the difference as South Carolina beats LSU for just the second time ever – both times by one point."

The only other win by SC was the first game played between the two teams in 1930 in Columbia, 7 - 6.

2012 NC game. Never been so mad at a coach.

I'll never forget Bobby Hebert railing on Miles in the post game press conference for not making any adjustments on offense while Miles just stared off into space. It was maddening.

I forget the year, it was during the Bert era, we've got Alabama at home. We are wearing the throwback Hog jerseys (which I prefer over our modern stuff) and we've got Bama on the ropes with a chance to finally end years of futility against them.

Our FB gets the ball, makes a move, walks into the end zone untouched! Except he fumbled the ball just before crossing the line, it rolls out of the end zone. We go on to lose a heart breaker. I thought I was going to have a stroke on the spot.

I concur, 06 Auburn, they didn’t even try to conceal the grift.

ETA:
94 Auburn, Jamie fricking Howard.

Gotta be the Johnny Manziel game in Tuscaloosa

Undefeated and lose to A&M in dramatic fashion. Comeback only to throw the INT at the goal line in last moments.

When it became 20-0 early I walked outside until 2nd half.

Still won the natty that year but that one sticks out

2003 "The Swindle in The Swamp" and it's not even close. FSU at UF. ACC refs. Every big play was given their way, even if that wasn't how the play actually happened on the field.

I hate losing, but if you beat yourself or the other team simply out-performs or out-coaches you, that is one thing. To literally witness refs decide the outcome of a game and nobody do anything about it?

I was there. In person. I have NEVER seen a stadium and team so livid. I honestly thought after the game that we were going to storm the field and start injuring refs. Pretty sure them lining the perimeter of the field with cops is the only reason that didn't happen.

Since I was there in person, I didn't see the TV broadcast or know what other fans thought. That game bothered me so badly with how utterly blatant it was that the next day I went cruising every college football message board I could find. EVERYONE agreed the Gators were hosed and the game was fixed, all the way from Michigan to Texas boards even.

My blood pressure's actually going up just remembering that game. frick FSU and ACC forever for that shite. Chickenshit team, chickenshit conference.

It was also the fastest and quietest I have ever seen FSU fans leave after a victory. I think they knew that game was rigged in their favor and the mood of the area was people were gonna get hurt if they ran their mouths about it. They left with the quickness.

Screw the SEC
No one will ever change my mind that the league office demanded an SECCG between 2 undefeated teams.

2022 App St, no question. Never seen such an inept performance by our offense, it was ugly to watch.

2013 Auburn. Missed horse collar tackle on Johnny that would’ve very likely put A&M in position to score and win the game.

This is easy. Early 1990's when LSU was dog shite and had the game wrapped up against Auburn. All we had to do was run the ball in the Fourth. But Jamie Howard kept throwing and Auburn would have a ton of six picks. Worse coaching job I ever witnessed. Even Les Miles would have won that game.
