As an outside person watching Ole Miss go for 2 against LSU, i thought it was dumb at the time.
However watching Ole Miss get LSU to jump offside twice was great football.
Pete literally looked at Kiffin and said, “watch this, my team is more disciplined than yours.”

Not only that, but if LSU gets the ball and scores, there's an excellent chance Kiffin goes for 2. If you get the first offsides, you put the pressure back on Kiffin to go all the way down the field and get the conversion just to keep the game going.

It didn't matter but I still think it was dumb.
If they had missed the 2 pt conversion, all LSU has to do is march down the field and then kick the FG for the win.
It worked out and wasn't even needed. But I think there is a reason why the normal call is to kick the FG.

Agree on all points. Golding did a good job there. Hes got a kicker that can hit from 90, so who cares if playing around there resulted in a delay of game or a false start from his guys. The possibility on LSU screwing up was there, so he tried it. It worked. Tip your cap.

LSU wasn’t set up to win in OT with no Green and leavitt struggling. We for sure would have gone for 2 if we scored and tried to win it in regulation. Pete knows kiffin and that likely played into it.

LSU was dog shite tired on that possession. Watching the Skyview broadcast, you could see all the huffing and puffing and hands on hips. Led to mental errors.

That’s my perspective. If a coach hangs his balls out and it works, he’s a genius. If it backfires, it’s his fault they lost the game. It would be a tough job, but I hear the pay’s decent.
