What are you talking about? This is not even close to true 
He was laundering money and using people in his scheme. He gave a player's family 100k, of which most of it was returned i.e. "laundered".
It mostly involved people not associated with active LSU athletes, it just had a little overlap.

Alabama and USC had their football programs destroyed for a lot less. At least their boosters didn't steal money from a hospital to pay their recruits.
