It could be a good idea and have an fed to on recruiting in Texas.
Alabama however got 7 recruits from Texas this year and all 7 were ranked number 1 in Texas at their position.
If you win they will
Come play for you, it’s that simple!

Atlanta is more centrally located considering how many schools are 300 miles from downtown Atl.
But from a Bama standpoint Houston would be ok for recruiting purposes. Why not suggest Texas World while you are at it.

Why would Alabama want to go to Texas every year to play Florida or Georgia?
You may want to slow your roll slick.

Houston would be unfair to the East teams. You would have to rotate among several cities (Houston, NO, Nashville, Atl, Jacksonville) to get the East on board and that's too much. Atl is central, indoors, and fairly easy drive or flight from the whole SEC.

If you like 210% humidity, F’ed up traffic, and crowds, then you’ll love Houston. It’s one of the shitist cities in Texas right behind Orange and Beaumont’. Make it New Braunfels or San Antonio and you’re good.

The only good reason to have this game in Texas is that no team from Texas will ever be in this game which makes it a neutral site.

I see folks here don't know Houston.
The city is everything folks hate about Atlanta with more sprawl, more humidity, worse transportation options, and more traffic.
If you're going outside of the SEC just take it to Dallas and play at Jerry World.
Eff it. Just play in San Diego.

Plus LSU has lots of fans in the Houston area.
But Atlanta is closer to Tuscaloosa than Houston is.

It’s not Atlanta so that’s a big plus.

I spent some time there a couple of decades ago. I thought the traffic was busy but it moved. I was impressed by the road designs.
Atlanta in that same period was the same as it is now: gridlock.
Every single time I go through Atlanta, I wonder why anyone voluntarily lives there. Houston is the 4th largest city in the country--Atlanta is 37th. You wouldn't know it driving through it.

No, Houston is not SEC country.

Atlanta is a boring city
I mean, it's better than Houston. But so are most big cities.

Just say the “golden triangle”. The shithole of Texas. It’s basically Louisiana.

Houston must provide the mechanical bulls like in Urban Cowboy, so we watch drunk SEC fans try and ride them.

For what purpose?
So A&M can drive instead of fly to watch someone else play in the game?
