I’m sure everyone would have loved for LSU to keep O or BK.

Gus finished the regular season with less than 3 losses exactly one time.
10-2 Brian Kelly built yalls roster from scratch.
26- 41 scholarship players is what yall claimed he inherited.
Poor Brian with the BIG k

Gus
2013 - 1 regular season loss
2017 - 2 regular season losses
Gus was a great coach. His downfall was having to compete against prime saban and prime kirby, prime Clemson, very competitive LSU, prime Hugh Freeze, Dak, and pesky aggie.

1-15 as head coach vs Big Six in away games.
Keep him and we’re now 1-30.

2014 5 losses
2015 6 losses
2017 4 losses
2018 5 losses
2019 4 losses
2020 6-4, with a win that Arkansas deserved
Now remember, Gus feasted on teams that he could swat down. The Arkansas's and Vandys out there... Oklahoma and Texas do not fit that style of team he could readily beat. He got his doors blown off by Big Game Bob as a matter of fact.
So they would have gave Gus fits and the 9th extra game would have given Gus fits. The one thing Gus did well was get Les Miles fired and we no longer get to play LSU all the time so there goes that win as well.
Meanwhile recently you could not handle 10-2 Brian Kelly

So pretty much the same as now, except $52.5 million ahead.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Brian Kelly never had a 10-2 or greater regular season. If you're trying to say that LSU fans became discontented with a better coach than Gus, then yes you are probably right. But LSU is a better program than Auburn.

Probably more around $38 Million if still around. But still a good chuck of money!

Gus at that time was attempting to run an SEC offense without recruiting any OL players for a couple years running.
Whatever had happened behind the scenes his time was done.
The Harsin hire is a reflection of the state of the Auburn AD and booster situation at that time not being good, but it doesn’t excuse whatever had happened with the “Gus Bus” by that point.
It kind of felt like he was trying to prove to everyone he didn’t need a mobile QB to make his offense work so he started bringing in drop back QBs while the OL and physicality dropped off and the offense became non-functional.

The problem with Auburn is that they keep firing coaches for having mediocre results, and then replacing them with mediocre coaches and expecting different results.
Personally, I love to see it
I'm genuinely surprised they didn't back up the Brinks truck for Clark Lea after upsetting DeBoer and co.

Gus was done when they took the microphone and camera away from Kristi.

Gus never won on the road against Bama, LSU, UGA or FL

Auburn and A&M eat coaches for fun. Zero chance Auburn doesn’t fire him with continuous 9 win seasons.

Gus could beat Saban and lose to Jeremy Pruitt in the same season
