Have y'all heard about the crime down there? If any thugs are using the flooding to loot they may want to watch out for that. Hope everyone down there is safe.

Does anybody know how Montrose is fairing? I called a friend that lives there yesterday and haven't heard back from him yet.

Why is someone downvoting these?!

Seriously glad y'all are all physically okay. Hate that it sounds like there is some degree of material loss with everyone. I've had y'all on my mind all day and have been keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there and if there is anything that I can or any of us can help y'all with...just say the word.

The entire city is underwater, with a few scattered "not completely flooded" spots.
Montrose is certainly included in that description; however, Montrose is a vast area.
Without knowing cross-streets, it's tough to comment specifically on your friend's neighborhood.
I'll include him specifically in my prayers.

Glad to hear everyone is ok. Scenes of folks helping each other and all the awesome people from Louisiana riding over with their boats is fantastic.

Montrose has fared pretty well from what I've heard. May be some water in houses but not life threatening stuff like a lot of the city. I live in Midtown and water has gotten really close when the heavy stuff has hit (Sat night and last night) but drained pretty quickly once it slowed down. Today has been a steady rain and it's steadily drained out. Definitely going to try to get to George R Brown tomorrow if it looks like things are clearing up rain wise for me.

We are good. We are at 28+ inches of rain since Friday morning. Have friends from Sienna Plantation staying with us for the next few days while they sweat out the levee situation across the river. We are in Bridlewood Estates a mile past Greatwood and are high and dry.

High and dry in west Houston but water everywhere. My street is flooded but the houses sit high so not many people took in water. Few nearby neighborhoods are under water. Only way for me to travel right now would be by boat. Never seen anything like this in my life and I've been a 1st responder to several weather events. Storm headed towards LA (NOLA), so we might catch a break by Wednesday. I'm praying for our friends in LA that they will not have anything like this.

I'm not so sure I would go to GRB. They were expecting a total of 5,000 people there but they have over 7,000 already with a lot of people still on the way. Try to ride it out tomorrow as things should slow by tomorrow night or go to the hundreds of schools and churches that are open.

Be safe.

For the most part, everything up here in The Woodlands on the North Side of Houston is doing better than downtown and to the West and South sides. They opened up the flood gates on the damn North of us early on, so Lake Woodlands is higher than I've ever seen it, but staying in the designated flood plains. Spring Creek has spilled its banks and is flooding the Creekside area of The Woodlands, so they had all the boats lined up today to go in there and evacuate everyone that's under water. Luckily we're North of the levees and damns around Houston where they are having to open the flood control gates on, so I hate to say it, but it's only going to get worse downtown. Thanks for all the prayers...

Stranded at my parents house in Pearland but only the streets are flooded. No water in houses in this neighborhood. Water has only risen a little in the past 24 hrs and its rained literally all day. Apartment in Houston is high and dry. We've been very fortunate. Extremely thankful for all of those around the country sending love and support.
