Thanks for checking.

I'm good. We GTFO out of town yesterday when the creeks were rising. Safe with family and taking in friends at the lake house in SE Dallas / East Texas.

I didn't know Rockiee was in Houston.

The pictures are frightening, I can't imagine what it's like to be in that. Prayers, vibes, and everything positive to all those folks dealing with that horrible mess.

Glad to hear it. Any reports on property?

Not in Texas at the moment, have family that are about to get some flooding in their homes unless something changes soon. Thankfully everyone has a better location to go to if needed. Hope everyone else is safe at the very least.

I split time between there and central Arkansas.

Crib just lost power and is dry for now. The creeks are all flooded so I'd be stuck with a kayak and family of four if waited around.

Its been going on and off based on the info I've been getting.

There are over 300K without power in Texas & LA right now.

They have had moments of it going out but nothing that lasted that long for them. Everything changes by the minute though.

My grandparents live in a one story and still are dry but are making plans to head to my Uncle's house not far where it is multiple stories. I'm just glad that everyone I know has made plans to play it safe and not take any chances.

Here, but highly concerned ... as I'm sure all of us are.
Still raining.
Siblings are on the verge of water breaching their houses tonight (we knew it would happen to one of us, but we still hoped against it).

Never thought I'd be totally ambivalent about the start of cfb.
It couldn't be farther from my mind right now.
I admit I'm envious as hell of those who are excited (not that I'd wish this nightmare on anyone).
Too many displaced, homeless, and devastated friends for whom to account.

ETA: Thank you for your concern .

Have a plan if the worst happens. I wouldn't frick around with this.

Yesterday, we (my immediate family, MIL, 2x SIL, one of their Husbands, BIL, his wife, and kids) we all together trying to decide what to do. I took a shower and prayed about it and it was clear. It was time to go. I didn't want to be one of those people on the news. I didn't want to worry about the safety of my family. I didn't want to reach desperation. The roads were drivable enough and we had somewhere safe to go so I made the decision. I was able to get 8 of the 12 on board and we were gone in a hour.

Smart move. Why did the other 4 decide to stay?

Thoughts and prayers to all of you.

We/they do.
Started preparing for possible evac early this morning; ready to pull the trigger if/when needed.
Have large vehicles, a boat; BIL is ex-Coast Guard (Search and Rescue).
So glad your family is ok.
Thanks, Ag.

They did what they thought was best, which was avoid driving to on wet, potentially flooded roads as it was getting dark. I felt confident in the reports that roadways were good enough. They're regretting it now. They have friends and high places and maybe getting a chopper to fly them to college station. They're still deciding.

Good to know they're prepared. Stay safe.
