I see this being more about changing the culture at Georgia.
Kirby might feel that Scott can help cure the “disease” in the program. STC is a job that he can be more involved - but not enough to really hurt them if it doesn’t work.
And if it doesn’t work - he still stole an absolutely massive piece from Coach Sabah.

All I care about Cochran leaving bama for UGA is this: NOW, when I come to BDS, I wont have to watch a very loud LSU grad lead alabama cheers on the jumbotrons.

This is an elite post and football take from Bill, per usual.
This hire is nothing more than proof that insecure manlet Kirby Shart is worried about the outside clutter surrounding Georgia’s program, which is a very very bad sign iyam.
Otoh, Saban losing his longtime director of deer antler spray regimen in the midst of the Bana dynasty crumbling down is perhaps the most damning loss at this point imo.
