The thought of defending Bama makes me want to spew elite vomit but this is one of the dumbest hires I can remember

Hiring this grunting caveman for an actual on field coaching position just screams desperation for Georgia and Kirby Shart imo jmo

In the living rooms of tons of Momma's/Auntie's/Grandmaw's all across the country having never recruited a day in his life. Jumping up and down in front of folks YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!

What makes you think coach O would take the A&M job?

Not what I'm hearing. Dude is ancient in approach. Actually hurting players. The mighty midget wanted to get rid of him. Look for an upgrade very soon. RIP Georgia linebackers. And get ready for poor(er) tackling.

Him leaving without talking to the team after preaching accountability for a decade is the ultimate dbag move.

Pretty sure he was told to pack his bags by the little one and get out of Tuscaloosa ASAP

Would Scott Cochran still be your S&C coach today had Kirby not stolen him from you?

He might still be our S&C coach but he sure as hell wouldn't be a coordinator.

Do you not think that if Nick thought Cochran had the goods for an on-field job he would have promoted him by now? Saban hired Sark, Kiffin, and tried to hire Hugh Freeze. So there is probably a reason Cochran didn't get promoted.

Why would Saban promote an uber successful S&C coach to a coordinator when he has the finances & rep to hire former HCs for those positions? If S&C ain’t broke, why fix it?

That doesn’t mean Cochran wouldn’t excel as a coordinator. The guy’s a winner & will do every thing in his power to be a success on-the-field. Smart’s giving him the opportunity that Saban wouldn’t.

There’s no “stealing” and no “act of war”. Just a dude who wants a chance to be an on-the-field coordinator. Probably would like to be a HC someday.

Ultimately, Bama will be fine & so will GA.

Sark has been really good as your OC. He managed to lose you a natty and then get you to a Citrus Bowl. Very impressive!

And we’ve all seen how much of a geNiUs Sabah is when it comes to special teams!

He literally couldn't do #1 if Saban did #2. That's the whole selling point of having a great S&C coach - they run the winter program when coaches can't participate.

Joseph Frickin Goodman

All I know is that Goodman writes for AL.com and Pawl has him on to report on Bama and Auburn. So is he an Alabama alum, Auburn alum, or neither, just a sportswriter who works at AL.com without an affiliation to either school.

Just trying to get some context to understand if there is some "taking a shot at Bama" (if Auburn alum) or just somebody maybe wanting to take a shot at Saban more so maybe due to how Saban has treated him in the past, etc.

5 or 6 years ago this would be huge. But a lot of programs have copied Bama's strength and condition program to a large degree. Cochran is a big get for Georgia but not necessarily huge blow to Bama today.

Sark called a good game. We could have won that game with Mac, Coker, or McElroy. Jalen couldn't and still can't hit the broadside of a barn. Kiffin melting down and getting canned hurt us.

You mean like the first time we played Clemson for a natty and won on special teams play?

You are really are pretty dumb

I'm guessing that while those guys may not have been good HC's they know a hell of a lot about calling offense. See Kiffin. Cochran has never been anything more than an off the field S&C guy. He may excel but its a risk to promote a guy like that. He has also never had to be on the road and recruit.

Georgia got a great guy for the program but we'll see if he can cut it. There are three phases of the game one of them being special teams. In a dog-eat-dog conference like the SEC promoting an unknown quantity to that position is a risk. Saban chose not to promote the guy and he has been on staff for 12 years. If Georgia loses to Pruitt or Mullen on bad ST play, UGA fans will lose their minds.

Let me know when Georgia wins something, and then I'll believe they've pulled off a masterful coup.
