I laugh at those complain about white sauce on pork, but they love coleslaw on pork sandwiches. Most of the coleslaws are mayonnaise base. Nothing like BBQ snobs.

Mayonnaise based slaw is one of the nastiest things on Earth.
It certainly does not belong on any type of BBQ.
Or anything else for that matter.

There might be varying degrees of execution and how well they do it, but that would be their goal. It's not.
Italian restaurants across the country would go out of business in months if they only served authentic Italian dishes.
Mexican restaurants across the country would go out of business in months if they served authentic Mexican dishes instead of Tex-mex.

I'm from Alabama and I won't eat it. Seems to be more of a North Alabama thing. Never see it in BBQ joints south of Birmingham.

The chain bbqs like Jim N' Nick's will often have a white sauce option. I'm a purist about its use. It's a bbq chicken,bbq wings and fries sauce only.
Just woke up to feed the fire in mine lol. Got a butt going for the LSU game and want to chuck some chickens on come noon.
Just so we avoid the usual flame war about our regional styles, can we all agree that New York being proud of their "bbq scene" is laughable?
