Ok what dishes did you think were better than the American versions, and why?

Spent most of my summer on the Adriatic coast. So anything seafood related. These were mostly villages. Local places.

Thank you! I had a meet and greet last weekend and settled on smoked brisket sliders as a starter. That white horseshite was horrible and I am going to hell for not making proper pork bbq anyway.

American versions of Italian food is almost always better.

I tend to like American versions of Italian dishes because the authentic version of dishes I like normally do not have meat. With that said, pizza in Napoli is on another level. The city is a dump though.

Was it dishes that you can't get here, making them unique? Or is it dishes you could compare to what you get in America?

I don't eat seafood, never tried any version.

It is neither.

It is unique in it's flavor profile, and if you have eaten anything other than the ORIGINAL Big Bob Gibson's White Sauce, you have a flawed opinion based on an inferior product.
I have had some imposter "Alabama White Sauces" and they are all crap, as you describe.

I just don't like it. I'm very much a red meat/potato/pasta kind of guy.

They were dishes I’ve never seen in the states. But I also don’t live in a coastal city here or in an area that’s had a large Italian influence.

Little Tua picked it up in Alabama and took it to Maryland.

Most barbeque places have more than one kind of sauce available. All you have to do is make a different selection.

It was created by Big Bob Gibson in Decatur, AL in the 30s.

Shhhhhhhhhh dude. Take that back. Croatia is a third world hellhole that NOBODY should EVER visit. The food is nasty, beaches are gross, and the women all look like Aggies. Don't anyone vacation there. Ever.
