The best seats go to Tide Pride members who pay top dollar for them. If you want good FB tickets you also buy the bb tickets.

I think the whole top half should be student section. Let the Tide Pride have the bottom half. Getting students closer to the court will improve the atmosphere game in and game out. Especially on those Tuesday night games during the school year.

Funny to think about that South Carolina old arena was built the same year as Alabama's and their new arena is already 13 years old.....we are really behind.

even if Wichita St. beat KU four straight years in the tourney... WSU is little brother to the Jayhawks AND Wildcats. That whole place is 3rd fiddle. Come to Alabama, join the Empire, turn to the dark side!!

True. It's comparable to UAB football..
But in all seriousness he talks about being at a school where people say "thats our coach, he's a good one" or whatever. Come to a state where you can be that well known statewide if you have success.

FIFY
ETA: I'm not sure why Bama fans would be any different.

Being from Wichita, a WSU alum, LSU fan, and acquaintance with GM, I would be surprised to see him leave. He has turned down previous jobs with more merit in the past (UCLA, Tenn, NC State, etc.) He is making $1.8 mil a year base, over $2 mil w/ incentives, and probably closer to $3mil with his endorsement deals. He honestly runs this town and University from an athletic standpoint. Complete professional and personal use of a Cessna jet whenever he wants. House is fully paid for on the nicest golf course in the city. One of the winningest backcourts in CBB history returning after a sweet 16 run at the least. And lastly, a 14 year old daughter who is a pretty dang good volleyball player as a freshman in HS.
Most importantly, why take a step down for more money when there will be many more jobs that are a step up in the next 5 years (Duke, UNC, Cuse, Lville, etc.)? I don't know Gregg nearly enough to know what he will do with this situation, but I think the chance of him leaving WSU for Bama is as good of the chance of Nick Saban returning to Baton Rouge.
Edit: Texas is far more of a threat than Bama

Agreed.

Well I'm not sure of your age but that was 15 years ago. And please, bama fans have been vocal on this board in recent past that they only care about football.

And that is a pretty outlandish comment considering the numbers march madness and the NBA playoffs put up

We have quite a few posters on here that are big basketball fans.

You just choose to believe the few Bama fans who say this rather than the many who disagree. Go see what everyone is discussing on the Bama boards. Go read through the 10,000 Bama basketball threads on this board.

Marshall has repeatedly said he won't leave for a middle or lower rung job in a bigger conference just for money. Alabama is going to have to convince him they're serious about basketball success, not just write a check. He'd be a welcome addition to the conference.

Most SEC fans are fair weather basketball fans. UK is the obvious exception.
When Bama is good in basketball, the fans pack the house. When Wimp was coaching, Coleman was called the Plaid Palace because of the God awful jackets he used to wear. Fans would show up wearing plaid and they would go nuts when the team took the floor. It was so loud you couldn't hear yourself think. I think it would be the same now if the right guy was running the show.

Personally, I care more about our basketball team than the football team. I'd rather go to a packed out Coleman than BDS any day.
