Settle down. Bama lost on the ROAD to a very good team. It was Ole Miss's super bowl. Bama will have plenty of time to rebuild their case for a playoff slot given they still play Auburn, St. and A&M.
Oh I know. Every goal this team has is still within reach. I'm just not sure if we have the QB, o-line, or passion to grab it.

Look at it this way - at least you're still really, really good - something that LSU can no longer say,

Why don't you toddle off and enjoy your win? Y'all don't beat LSU very often -- go celebrate it.

We are a young team at the important positions. When your best players go to the nfl after three years it is difficult to reload. I still think the future is bright

You have a very romanticized view of college football.
Posted on 10/5/14 at 10:15 am to Monticello
I don't subscribe to any of those beliefs. You got beat by the better team in all three scenarios. No shame in that considering it absolutely took those teams best shot to even be in a position to win late.

This is only Alabama 10th loss since 2008. Think about that ... 10 losses in 6-1/2 yrs. The next closest SEC team to that many losses in that time frame, is Lsu, with 20.
Yep, it has been a great ride.

See this is where you are wrong. After one loss I have no problem admitting the better team won and moving on. Losses happen. This is 3 in a row to the last 3 decent teams we have played. That should be concerning to any fan base, especially one with supposedly the greatest collection of talent ever assembled.

Like 3 losses in a row to the last 3 teams we have played with a pulse? At some point we have to evaluate where we are at and quit calling everything a fluke. Auburn was lucky, OU was a consolation game, Ole Miss was special team's fault. When do the excuses end and these 5 star kids actually beat someone?
I dunno man, maybe I just have a different outlook on college football than you. I want us to be competitive in every game. And we are. I, as a rational spectator of SEC football, realize that it is EXTREMELY HARD to win every single game. I am looking forward to the rest of the season as we still have a good chance of getting to the SECCG.

This ain't last year or last years team. Did you blame the 2012 NC team for last years 2 season ending losses?
Posted on 10/5/14 at 10:17 am to Monticello
Turnovers, penalties, and special teams lost thus game not some concept of team.....
OP needs to stick a tampon in it.

3 losses in the last 7 games... after having 3 losses in 39 games
Maybe there's something to it?... we'll see it play out. Bama has lost a game before and won it all.

you had this observation when we won the title in 2012?
I'm talking about the 2013 and 2014 teams. 2012 was a completely different team than what we have had the last 2 years, and especially the last 7 games.

That wasn't a close loss.....unless a two TD loss is "close".

True. LSU lacks passion and actual talent. It could be a lot worse for Alabama.

Look at our starting lineup. It is loaded with juniors and seniors. It's actually one of the most upperclassmen heavy teams we have had under Saban.

I am enjoying yesterday as a whole my Gump friend. Don't project your anger about my clinical diagnosis upon my person. You should focus your energies more upon repairing the rift slowly tearing the Gump Nation apart.

Lighten up Frances. Or go pull for that team in Opelika. This was the biggest game in Ole Miss history for a reason. The reason was it was undefeated number one Alabama and Nick Saban coming in. A team they had not beaten in a long time. Perception wise THE team in college football.
We get everyone's best shot. Oklahoma is still living off that Sugar Bowl. Stop and ask yourself why that is.
One loss does not end a season. There is a lot of football left to play and this is a chance to see what our team is or is not made of. No one wins them all every year, just look at yesterday's results. Well, teams that play anyone with a pulse that is.(FSU comes to mind)
Alabama played a team that put EVERYTHING into yesterday's game, an all out effort their program risked it all....and we came close to breaking their hearts at the end.
The SEC West more than likely leaves no one unscathed this year, we will see just how it ends up.
