Most of you are misinterpreting my post. Alabama is still a top 5 overall program and I would not trade coaches with anyone. However, I do believe we have lost that extra drive and passion that won us 3 titles. I see a collection of 4 and 5 star kids auditioning for the NFL, not a college football team.
i get what you are saying and half way agree with it. it might take a season or two of not being the big dog to get the "extra drive and passion back" or maybe just a game or two.
or, maybe it is just that saban has been in the sec long enough that other coaches have not just had enough time to game plan for him, but time to recruit in order to negate the out-physical-the-other-team, just wear them down type players that saban likes. saban is a smart, intutive coach--can be very stubborn at times. hopefully we are seeing a transitional alabama team with some growing & adapting pains.

Not in my experience.
So sidewalk Auburn, LSU, Tennessee, and Ole Miss fans have a deep, burning passion for the academic side of the university?

They'll get 10 wins on talent alone....
I'm not so sure about that. State has a real possibility of beating them. A&M does also. Auburn has a chance. bama is really good, but every one of those teams can beat them. Who knows what will happen if they fall out of the race for the West title? That fanbase can turn on their own quickly.

tDecline is real and it has begun.
Maybe. But at the same time, Ole Miss, MSU, A&M and maybe even Arky deserve credit for the strides they're making in upsetting the established SEC order.
