You should worry about smart. He's gonna get that nfl coaching bug that every successful college coach eventually gets. And when he does that, washes out, guess where he's gonna come back to cause our old national championship winning coach will finally be retiring and we will be in need of another national championship winning coach to replace him

Which NFL team would give him a raise? He makes more than all but 3 NFL coaches.

It's delusional homerism, Alabama fans think Alabama is the best job in the country

I did say it is subjective but I did check sources 24/7 says Bama is the top job in college football, USA Today says Bama, ESPN, The Athletic, Fan Sided, CBS, all Bama. I was unaware that Alabama homers run most of the major new sources

I think Geoff Collins would be a home run hire for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Make it happen

Never mind.. I’m sure your right. 8 years from now when Saban retires, because that’s what you all think.. so I’m sure that’s what will happen.. Bama will be looking at 54 yr old UGA alumni and most successful coach of all time, who’s by the way from Georgia and married to a UGA Alumn. Who’s family runs so deep at UGA. I’m sure he will want to leave and follow Saban when he’s already built his own thing in Athens. That makes perfect sense! Hopefully, by that time Schumann will be 40 a Bama Alumn and have a pedigree as good as Smarts was when he got the UGA job. Your right, my apologies for proposing and actual possible scenario that’s 8 years from now.

You can’t be reasonable on the Rant. Now, Schumann wouldn’t be a candidate but when Saban retire, who knows.

Greg Byrne has gone on record that he's a out of the box thinker. Jim Leonhard is my guess.

Saban will never last 8 more years. He's looking pretty old lately and he should leave when on top, not like these guys:
-Woody
-Bo
-Joe
-Bobby

How will he do when Monken leaves? That's the question.

Kirby being a Bama native is my only guess.

And he wasn’t going to Alabama. Just because Saban is a liar doesn’t mean Kirby is.
If Saban had had full control of Miami, I bet he doesn’t leave.

I heard it's Coach O's dream job.

And clearly Bama fans respect what he would bring since they all felt we were crazy for firing him. Right?

No, never going to happen, thankfully !

Kirby has roots at UGA, he would never leave there to return to Alabama.

When Saban retires, and I think he will before his 8 year contract is up, the replacement will likely be one of his other previous assistants. Kiffin will be a strong contender, if Saban retires in the next 3-5 year range.

Again, that's not how Bryne thinks. He already has his list and my bet its somebody from midwest.

Lol, Smart ain’t leaving. You know that, right?

If Bama went after Kirby, good chance he might take it. I'd disclose why I think this, but it might get a friend in trouble.

When the time comes to pick a replacement, I think Saban will have 99.9999% control over who it is. If Kiffin has a successful record at Ole Miss over the next few years, I just feel that he will be a viable candidate. I think it will be a Saban disciple that he has mentored.

The only thing that would come from it is a record new contract being coughed up from the Dawgs. No chance Kirby leaves.

Coaching "hot names" change pretty regularly. I think it will be an offensive minded HC and most likely someone we're not talking about today if Saban stays 5+ years.

To the OP, if Golding moves on in the next year or so, I'm certain Schumann would get a phonecall for DC given his Saban/Bama connection and how he's helped the Dawgs pick up where they left off after so much turnover

That's speculation and I think Saban will let Byrnes make that call as he should.

Saban will never fulfill his 8 year contract. NCAA football will change dramatically over the next few years due to the transfer portal, and NIL. I see a changing of the guard, and the inability of Alabama to dominate, win the Natty, for the next few years, will drive Saban out. I think within 2-3 years, after this season, his ego will force him out.

Actually, I'm hoping he does retire within 2-3, I think he has already lost a large portion of his motivational dominance due to age/ego.
