re: UF 11 @ LSU 8 Final

Lach deserved better than he got. Shoulda had a DP if not for the shift then got squeezed out of called 3rd strike.
What’s up with the guy in the purple tie behind the speaker? Looks like he’s either crapping his pants or about to cry.

Maybe he’s about to cry BECAUSE he crapped his pants.
I posted this on another thread that this shows 2 things…

1) the impact of the portal timing for teams that make the CWS finals

2) how quickly a bad baseball season can be turned around.

Some recent history...

Team / Champ Season / Following Year Record
MSU 2021 26 - 30 (9 - 21 SEC)
Ole Miss 2022 25 - 29 (6 - 24 SEC)
LSU 2023 43 - 13 (13 - 17 SEC)
Tenn 2024 46 - 19 (16 - 14 SEC)
* A&M 2024 runner up 30 - 26 (11 - 19 SEC)

There is definitely a trend here following a deep CWS run in the portal age. The best SEC record in the year following a title was 16-14.

Why does the western half, less densely populated states of the U.S. have far more cases than the more densely populated eastern half?

CDC Site

Hantavirus cases are more common in the Southwestern U.S. because the region's arid climate allows the virus to persist in the environment and aerosolize more easily, allowing it to be inhaled from rodent droppings. High populations of carrier rodents, such as the deer mouse, coupled with human activities that frequently disturb their habitats, drive higher transmission rates in the area.

I don’t think this gets raised enough as a major factor. Who was the last pre-season top 5 team to miss the post-season? 2025 TAMU. What were they doing during the prior year’s portal window? Playing in the CWS finals.

Yes, I realize they also had their roster gutted and lost their HC but despite this the “experts” still viewed them as top 5 entering 2025 season. Missed the post season but 1 year later they are back as a legitimate contender to win it all.

Anybody remember a regular caller into BR sports talk radio in late 90’s with this name. Dude loved to call in and laugh about how bad the football team was in 98-99. I remember him calling in during one of the stadium expansions and saying “they need to turn some of them luxury boxes around and point them across the street where the winners are”.

Never understood the concept of a “baseball only” LSU fan which he seemed to be. If he’s still around, wonder how he’s taking this season.
Didn’t we win 3 out of the last 5 SEC games?

But yes, we did score 24 against MSU and got swept. Appears we are on the same trajectory this weekend.

Comments about “this team has no weaknesses” after first 2 weeks.
Floyd was wildly inconsistent until the CWS if I recall correctly. Similiar to Shores last year.
This is what an answer from a person who has spent their life serving a purpose larger than self sounds like.

It’s almost like we finally get to see Trindon at DE.

Seriously though that speed and quickness will present problems for OL. Have we reached peak DL size?
I’m ecstatic about the basketball goal being installed.

Will it be ready in time?

Like walk lead offs with a 5 run lead in back-to-back innings, hit batters on 0-2 counts, and boot routine ground balls? [

Well yeah. We had to take one of the first 2. No pitching left for tomorrow

Saban named it in 2000. Catastrophe syndrome.

Just waiting for something bad to happen instead of winning.
Take a lead off double vs a walk.
Now. Can we get the 3rd out?
Here we go. Respond to taking a 5 run lead by walking the F’ing lead off.

Most talented group of players does not equal a great or even good team. We are seeing that.
