Freeze was one of the pioneers of the HUNH RPO offense in the SEC. That offense gave Saban and a lot of other coaches trouble back in the day but I doubt it would give them as much trouble in 2021 going forward. Saban has since adapted to the speed of the game and his offenses are such now that he can outscore a team that gives his defense problems.

Honestly though you’re right. Any team that beats Bama will be more impressive than any Bama team, solely because beating bama is near impossible ever year.

When this goes to a more pedestrian 39-19 or so post-Saban, how empty is that stadium going to be? Someday you will lose to Tennessee again, and it's going to suck being mortal.

Bryant-Denny was selling out with Shula as head coach.

So I doubt it will suddenly be empty.

LSU level suckage

Nothing about being an LSU fan "sucks". On our worst days we enjoy ourselves more than you entitled rednecks on your best day. We are the cfb standard-bearer for hospitality and fun. Our three championships in seventeen years give us more positive juice than all your championships, tree-poisonings, Saban-jock-sniffing, sister-shtoinking and RMFTR's combined. You would never understand.

Soon it all ends for you. And being surly, hubristic and entitled, your fall will be sad for us all to witness. In fact, I'm preemptively sad for you. This is me crying over your future mediocrity.

Listen. Saban and 'Bama have been absolutely dominant and he and the program deserve all the accolades but do you have to speak like you're giving a wrestling promo?

I'm sure he didn't mean for it to come across like he was cutting a promo. In case he did, though, I'll just leave this right here.

Is Saban's run better than Tom Osborne's Nebraska run at the end of his tenure?

1993: 11-1
1994: 13-0
1995: 12-0
1996: 11-2
1997: 13-0

IDK, but that's pretty freaking impressive.

Osbourne never won less than 9 games in a season. That is nuts

Willy's team manages to win once in the last 10 years, they get a natty and think the nightmare is over.

Oh no. Saban one ups their asses destroys them in Red Stick and wins a Natty the next season.

Silly me...How did I miss that it commonly occurs on missed field goals. How often does it happen every year?
The 'fluke' part also includes multiple shittings of the bed by Bama in the red zone. Remember a holding call reversed a first down run to the goal line and a movement penalty reversed a field goal by the kicker which put Bama up by 10. Backed up five yards and had the next kick blocked after kicking a low trajectory line drive right into the AU defenders face mask.
Saban was determined to run Yeldon with a gimpy ankle instead of Henry during the 4th quarter. Saban was also determined to only throw on third and obvious passing downs in the red zone.

Sounds more like Saban was actually outcoached by numbnuts rather than a fluke. Same goes for the KR when Gus put our smaller, faster guys out there. Auburn also had the #1 rushing offense in the country that year and a much better overall offense.

My take on the Kick Six game was that each sideline was not doing too much to help their team win. Auburn abandoned the run game for most of the 2nd half. Only went back to it near the end of the game to tie it up but never should've had that opportunity to even tie the game. Alabama played ultra conservative in Auburn territory despite having problems with kicking throughout the game. Yet another one of those Nussmeier OC games where the playcalling was baffling and seemingly being called blind to what was happening on the field.

It is pretty appropriate the game ended with a seeming act of God because I'm not sure anyone other than a higher being possessed the ability to end that game considering what the two coaching staffs were bringing to the table that day.
