It's Kirby. Timeline matches his tenure more than Pruitt, his defenses have been top notch, and he hates all the new rules being skewed toward offense. Of course, the last part is true of every defensive minded coach.

What an a-hole

Yeah almost every successful offense is trying to trick you and that absolutely is football.

Outside Les Miles who the frick is telegraphing their offense?

If it was "all right," then Kirby.

If it was "aight," then Pruitt.

Other than Leach of Kiffin, I doubt it's an SEC guy. We can exclude all of the apostles because he said "shite", so Dabo is out.

My bet Riley.

Wait. Mullen is in the SEC.

1. Mullen
2. Riley

Wait...didn't they "trick" the LSU defense with their check with me quick snap play?

I’m ok with laying on the ground

Can an offense only succeed if it runs a play in five seconds I love it when offense get mad

If your offense is so great why can it only work in the first ten seconds of a play clock. It’s kind f silly

Besides all the other dead giveaways, just
two letters makes it irrefutable---"OK,".
And he's right---unless you enjoy
quickly jerking rabbits out of the hat to
marginalize defenses without enough time to adjust
and having to resort to professional wrestling on a football field.

Can’t remember who LSU played (Idaho?) but early in Nick’s tenor at LSU he played against a lower tier team early one season that would run 4 guys into the huddle, have all 15 in the huddle and then the excess ran to the sidelines when the huddle broke. They also ran 3 or 4 on and had a guy routinely turnaround halfway onto the field. They confused Nick’s substitutions all night. LSU won by 30 or so but he was PISSED post game. He was so pissed that he lobbied the NCAA to create a rule outlawing more than 11 in the huddle. Hence the rule change.

It sound like the coach who thought Auburn up by 3 was going to go for it on 4th, from our own 26 yard line, when we lined up the punter as a WR... Trick play..

As if there is no deception in misdirection plays. What an idiot. If your defender gets out of position because of eye candy in an offense, too bad.

I bet he is just fine when his defense disguises what formation they are running.

I don't care who said that. The observations are simply without merit. In fact those offensive changes have made the game more interesting.

You don’t think most of the rule changes over the last several years has favored the offense? Or at least offense more than defense?

People want to see offense.

This was the quote

quote:

The fact that every rule is seemingly bent toward offense now

Which is not true. Offense has far more restrictions pre snap than defense. its not even close. Post snap to play dead, its almost even

As much as it pains me to say, this was actually a smart bit of trickeration (having the punter still on the field but split wide), and it paid off.

Knute cheated with the forward pass and shift of the ND box. Triple option is cheating bc you take at least one defender out of the play by not blocking him and forcing him to read whether it’s a fake dive to the FB or option down the line. The inherent nature of football is to gain a leverage advantage in numbers or angles by use of formations and motions. It’s not “just” blocking and tackling and honestly hasn’t been since the wedge went out of style. Bitching and moaning sounds like
Sour grapes from someone the game has passed by.
