once again, WHERE does he say we refuse to play them in the regular season?

He doesn't.

All he says is we hope to eventually play them.

You realize Texas has made it clear they don't want to play us anytime soon don't you?

The only time we can meet them is in a playoff game or a bowl b/c they don't want to play.

Why would he say anything other than that?

Dire Wolf, you don't know what you're talking about.
They admitted it.

agree with this...they had a chance to schedule the aggies but passed. Now, with the SEC moving to 9 conference games soon, there will be less room to schedule the horns.

Texas A&M has been consistent throughout the saga: "We'll play you anytime, you're the ones providing the rivalry's death blow and refusing to play."

clearly isn't the case

It isn't the case for the moment. It will be again in a few years.

AtM is simply letting Texas know they are not their bitch and do not bend over when UT wants something.

AtM tried, UT refused. Now AtM is saying ball is in our court, we will let you know when we are ready and you will understand it is on our terms and our decision now. Texas had its chance to play point on this two years ago.

With the things that were said by texas and other big 12 schools about A&M and Mizzou, and the way the conference members, at the direction of texas, acted toward our schools, I'm not surprised there is reluctance to start the series again. I realize most of it came from Deloss Dodds, and he's leaving. But the insults hurled our way are still pretty fresh.

It wouldn't surprise me a bit if others at texas were never in favor of that hard-line approach, and would want to keep playing A&M. There's a lot of history there. But they may want to give it a little longer.

I disagree with this attitude, i'd rather play the game. Get deloss out of there, refuse to ever appear on the longhorn network and play the damn game. Make 'em play the first one at Kyle at night and move on.
exactly. This game needs to come back. Whoever is refusing - aTm in this case - is a pussy, period.

This is ridiculous--If you don't want to play Texas, I never want to hear from them out of yall's mouths again.

This is the pinnacle of stupid. Play your in-state rival. Seriously. You sure as hell don't have one in the SEC.

The horns are talked about regularly around here; but not by Ags.

I'd be so mad. Regardless of the Updykes success I would never want the rivalry to end.

When it did not hurt or benefit either, AtM said lets play. Now Texas only wants to play because they are taking a hit with AtM being in the SEC in recruiting.

I don't have a problem with A&M keeping them twisting in the wind a bit. As long as the game is played eventually on an ongoing basis.

But it's not like you have to text them right back.

That's how most of us initially felt, Marines. It sucked.
A season w/o Ags v Horns was unimaginable--which was exactly why our administration reached out & wanted to make it work.
The very public responses A&M received were less than cordial.
Times change. You move on.

they havent even asked us to play

why would we even discuss it with them?

again, I really have to wonder if anyone actually read the article.

nowhere in the actual article is there a comment from anyone from A&M saying "No thanks" like the title of the article indicates.
