Texas and AtM should definitely play each other.

However, I have to side with the Ags on this one.

The Aggies asked Texas to keep the game going when AtM was going to the SEC. Texas said no because they were being assholes. Now Texas is getting its arse handed to it in recruiting by AtM (relatively speaking) and Texas wants AtM back on the schedule for recruiting purposes only.

When it did not hurt or benefit either, AtM said lets play. Now Texas only wants to play because they are taking a hit with AtM being in the SEC in recruiting.

Definitely not about being scared. Honestly I would rather play them, as long as it is early in the season. The politics are very thick on this though and about 50 layers deep.

In reality this is probably just positioning. A&M doesn't want to be seen as dependent on Texas or kowtowing to them in any way. Texas has gone out of their way to say they didn't want to schedule A&M and pressured other BDF teams to do the same, even in minor sports.

The Aggies petulant little brother behavior is perfectly understandable to Tiger n Miami.

Your argument would maybe have merit if you weren't the littlest brother on the board.

Why not just play them? You're in a new conference, you've moved on. Show em you're better than them.

Why'd the relationship have to end? We wanted to keep playing them. There are 4 non-conference games that they could schedule us in. They said "no thanks". They wanted to "punish" the Aggies.

Now they're crawling back because Sumlin has them bent over a barrel in recruiting. frick 'em.

The Texas state legislature will eventually get involved to get the game going again. The Alabama state legislature had to threaten to pull funding from both schools in order to get the Iron Bowl renewed.

And the horns are finally ready to stop their tantrum?
Too bad.
They had their shot.

I disagree with this attitude, i'd rather play the game. Get deloss out of there, refuse to ever appear on the longhorn network and play the damn game. Make 'em play the first one at Kyle at night and move on.

Don't do it. Everyone will bitch that you don't travel out of your state for OOC games because they are jealous their states can't support multiple title winning teams.

You're wrong.
As the article states, A&M brass made every attempt: "any time and anywhere, as nonconference foes."
To be frank, most of you don't know what you're talking about.
The horns' shite has gotten old. And that's the bottom line.

plenty of its fans have shifted from believing they’d like to see the Thanksgiving tradition continue versus the Longhorns to simply, “No thanks.” The Aggies, too, are set to start playing new SEC rival LSU on Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving weekend starting next year.

They should play this game and beat the frick out of UT.

We would gladly schedule kU in football (:lolololololololol:) or basketball at their butthurt leisure.
