According to an email from Alleva, we will only play yall on thursdays on years we have a bye week the week before. I am cool with then

bye week (opening weekend of gun season too)
A&M (guranteed win)
extra 2 days to prepare for SECCG

Thanksgiving has been a college football day for 100 years. A&M/Texas was a T-day battle forever. When the Big12 formed and f-ed it up for a few years, it was on Friday. Ole Miss/MSU then stole the evening of T-day for the Egg bowl. The Big 12 finally put A&M/Tex back on Thanksgiving in 2008

If the tv ratings turn out to be really good, do you think there will be enough support on LSU's side to have it on Thanksgiving Day when it is played in Baton Rouge? Or do you think that the LSU folks will keep in on Friday or Saturday at all cost when they are the home team?

as long as we have a bye week the weekend before, I am cool with it.

Do you have a link that states the bye week stipulation? I don't remember that being part of it. I thought the agreement was the years it is played in College Station, it'll be on Thursday, and the years it is played in Baton Rouge it'll be on either Friday or Saturday.

The ratings will be wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy worse than a normal LSU/A&M game. We are competing with the 49ers vs Seahawks. Only mouthbreathing rednecks think this game will get good ratings

Yeah that is what I thought too.

I am ok with either Thursday or Friday. Friday is more convenient, but Thursday twists the knife deeper. Alternating back and forth is kinda best of both worlds.

I hate it because I have multiple family members that went to A&M. So I was looking forward to the college station away games. Now that will never happen

from the rant that was after an ESPNBR interview. He said it in an email to TAF members too I think, but I deleted the email

quote:

He also said that the only reason that he agreed to play A&M on Thanksgiving is because LSU would have a bye week immediately before and he wouldn't agree to play on Thanksgiving for years where that wasn't the case.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a bigger group of whiners.
Gotta say, it's a side of LSU fandom I wouldn't have predicted.
I'm good with playing the game at 7am Christmas morning.
Or high noon on a Tuesday in September.
Or right before/after LSU's nap time.
Buncha titty babies.

Umm I think y'all gotta play aTm on thursday's any time you play in their house - it doesn't matter whether y'all have a bye week the week before. aTm doesn't care when LSU has a bye week.

I am pretty sure we haave to sign off on when we play. We always have that standing invitation to Big 12 to play as a trump card.

...where, as a condition of acceptance, you would promptly become UTx's yearly opponent on T-Day. Home AND away.

But seriously, I understand LSU fans not liking it. I see the pros and cons, and not every Aggie likes it. But playing on that day is tradition, and that means a ton.
