Love everything about being in the SEC. Games, tailgates, venues, trash talking, fan involvement. Everything about it is awesome. It's like college football on ecstasy. Everything is just better.

More positives than negatives, but nothing's perfect! My Aggie family has done a great job listing some positives, so I'll hit upon a couple of not-so-positives--for me, anyway.
My biggest adjustments have been the intangibles--e.g., our history book, "classic games," several traditions, etc. have been wiped/are irrelevant here. Certainly not a surprise, but that wasn't something over which I anticipated being so sentimental.
I'm not a fan of the SEC mentality of keeping all tourneys and champ games in some of the locales where they are (would be great to see more stuff out east and west); but I doubt anyone gives a lick about my opinions on that.
I look forward to the day when SEC folks know Texas A&M University and Aggies for what and who we really are, rather than regurgitating what they've gleaned from questionable sources.
It was a 100-year decision.
Growing pains were bound to materialize.
But no regrets.

I love it. The only thing is waiting half a century to play east teams in football. Hell, my unborn children will be in high school by the time I get to go to Athens for a game! The admins really need to do something about that.
I love the camaraderie and shite talking and family feeling of it all. I also love rubbing it in sips faces that we get to host/play auburn, Bama, lsu, UT, uga, etc. while they're stuck with Baylor, Kansas, tech and the rest of those schools nobody really gives a shite about. Just about all of them I know would cut off a finger to be in the SEC.

The pros are:
Stability
Money
better travel destenations
better football culture and histrory overall
better competetion
The cons:
Less schools within 2-4 hour drive
Less SEC fans in the area to argue with
Less local media coverage
More competition in every aspect of football
Overall I am happy with the move. Staying in a Big 12 without Texas would have also been fine but that wasn't going to happen. I am glad we didn't end up in the Big 10. I would have personally hated that.
Wanted to make sure that real answers were submitted before I put a real one.
Pros:
Money
Stability
Most things about football.
Change of scenery
More exposure as national brand
Cons:
Rivalries-big one for me
longer trips/culture
basketball. could get better, but the quality overall was pretty poor (especially refs)
Wrestling and any chance of moving our hockey team to NCAA level.
I am a westside (KC) fan. The kU rivalry definitely means a lot more to us. I don't like the try-hard attitude that alot of our fans have picked up. The move was shocking to me. My personal feelings are that everyone would be happier had we gotten full membership in the Big10, but we landed pretty well given the situation.

I don't understand the Big 10 thing. I get it for the STL side but not really with KC or the southern part of the state.

I'm glad someone else sees that. NU is definitely not the recruit magnet they were before. They get decent recruits but they used to have the same appeal as the Big 6 in the SEC. Not so anymore.

These southern athletes are the key to Mizzou's future in football and basketball, IMO. With two consecutive East division titles in football, Mizzou is well on their way to becoming well known in the parts of the South where high school football and basketball are most intense. UGA, for example, probably isn't happy having another SEC school to compete with for Georgia's premier athletes.

M-I-Z!!! S-E-C!!! I grew-up in the Missouri bootheel and we sometimes played AR and TN HS teams. It's a natural fit for me (hate Yankees). The absolute best thing that EVER happened to Mizzou athletics, period. Thanks for having us!

I don't "love it" but I don't not like it either.
Theyve already discussed the possibility of having the hoops tourney in STL.. I don't if it's an actual deal yet.
Since Nashville doesn't have a dome for football I think playing in ATL for that makes a good deal of sense, on the odd chance there is a downpour during that game, I know a little bad weather wouldn't bother most fans but lets face it, this is a premiere and often THE premiere college game of the season. Hell part of the reason ATL is building a new dome is because of the SEC CC game..

I grew up in the bootheel as well, so with easy to KY, TN, and AR right across the border, the SEC move didn't feel all that different culturally to me.I concede, I was against the move at first, but I never imagined the move would have worked out as well as it has.The only bad thing is the travel to the southern schools is a lot farther away, and basketball has seemed like less of a priority.
While I don't think the Tigers will ever be a recruiting powerhouse in the south, it's rather apparent solid recruits in the south have taken notice (the most recent recruit from LA who just committed last week said as much).I get the Tigers will be viewed as an outsider for a long time, but hopefully over time they will be embraced like all the other SEC instituitions.
Much respect to all the other long standing SEC members, and thanks for the invite.

I wouldn't. I prefer the SEC to the Big 10. I just like the football atmosphere better.
That being said. The Big 10 would have been fine as well. Both were obviously preferable than suckling and Texas' teet in the Big 12.

SEC Tournament coming to the STL in 2018.
I'd rather have the SEC Championship Game in Nashville too.But some here have said hotels and travel would be a problem.ACC doesn't have their championship game in a dome.
