re: Should Ford be fired after the year?

"Typical Mizzou overreaction.
Coaches don’t really influence recruiting. It’s the schools and their reputation that really drive recruiting."
Not true.
Schools and rep are important, but coaches certainly can make an influence.

In KC we call it pop.
Have friends from STL that call it soda. They get made fun of.

Damn, I didn't know that. 19 losses in row. Is that true, Mizzou fans???
When Kim Anderson is coaching your team you have no limits to how bad your team can be.
Reserving judgement until after this year. I think next year determines his future at Mizzou.

This is why I think that if the SEC does expand to 16 it really needs to focus on adding strong basketball programs. The SEC is pretty set on football. Adding a couple more good basketball teams would strengthen content I think more than a couple more good football teams.
Not bad...not bad at all.
Whatever Jontay decides he wants to do is fine by me. But, I think it may be better in the long run if he waits. But only if we aren't going to get Tilmon.
If we do get Tilmon I would rather have him recruiting 2018 kids for us like his brother did this year.

Mamoudou Diarra is on the radar
Knox and Tilmon

Knox said Mizzou is a possibility. Said MPJ has been recruiting him hard.
Martin was in ESL Today.

@ChickCarson photoshoped his profile pic to a Mizzou Jersey. Well Done.

Man, you just can't not like Frank Martin.
Harris is a PG, Smith is a PG and we have a 4* PG committed.
Do we really need more than 1 PG in this class?

247 Experts starting to switch prediction to Mizzou. Any other news on Tilmon to share?
Yep and Curry is the reason Underwood wouldn't consider KSU
Those that follow recruiting
Posted by ford1911 on 3/20/17 at 6:04 pm
For those that follow recruiting what are your feelings on the players from the area? Can Martin actually land the best players? Can someone finally recruit STL?
2017
MPJ - Good chance
Jontay Porter - Good chance
Jeremiah Tillman - Illinois commit
2018
Carte'Are Gordon - Saint Louis commit
Courtney Ramsey - Louisville commit
I just listed a few. Several 4* and up players in the KC and STL area's. I wonder if we can flip Tillman and the 2018 guys.

Wow. Didn't see that coming. Pretty good hire.

Was only told Kansas and Oklahoma are real options for them.

I have heard from 2 people that it's not a given and they are seriously considering other schools. I originally thought it was a very high chance with all the original talk. I would give it a 50 percent chance at best now.
I hope what I'm hearing is wrong and it's a done deal.

Lol. South Carolina has always been a sleeping giant in basketball. We finally made the right hire as head coach. I honestly see many final 4's in Frank's future. (Go ahead and laugh at that, just like many laughed at me predicting Frank making us great).
I think anyone would be foolish to underestimate Martin.

What a joke. You guys hired Kim Anderson for a reason. Nobody else wanted to go there. Missouri basketball is dead and showing no signs of life.
I wouldn't leave South Carolina State at this point for Mizzou, but who knows?
I do know that he unexpectedly liked the area more than he ever thought he would when he was coach at K-St. He has people in the area he considers dear friends. I don't know his feeling on S.Carolina though. Could be he loves it.
As far as no one else wanting to coach at Mizzou. That statement is as ignorant as us hiring Kim Anderson. We had much better coaches that WANTED to come here. Why we didn't hire a couple is beyond me. Poor choices.
