15 years ago Saban was in his first year at Alabama. A signature win would go a long way to solidifying his inaugural season.

Down by 4 John Parker Wilson led the Tide on a 9 play, 74 yard drive that culminated with a 4 yard TD pass to Matt Caddell, securing a win over #16 Arkansas which "Woke Up the Echoes in Tuscaloosa" as Mike Patrick had uttered in what became a sentence of Nostradamus-esque level prognostication.

So here's to you, Arkansas, as the launchpad to Saban's 15 year run so far.

That was a great game. McFadden ran all over us in that game. I was glad we never had to see him again

You are welcome.

We have been letting you win all these years because we don’t want anyone to be shot in Alabama if they lose

I remember London Crawford catching a ball wide open across the middle, nobody within a mile and I said "he's gone". And somehow he fumbled. Crazy game.

That’s the game the clock was about to run out and Saban ran down to the 10 crying for a measurement so the clock would stop and Bama could run a last play. The wonderful Sec officials stopped the clock even though it was obviously way short. They measured and it was a full yard short. The game ends without the measurement and Hogs win. DMac was a man against boys in that game.

I remember that game very well. There was a play where an Arkansas receiver was running wide open and just fumbled the ball and no one had touched him.

You know they were just going to spike it right? That wasn't a 3rd or 4th down play; that play was 1st and 10.

Without the measurement the game doesn't magically end. There was 30 seconds left when he was tackled - plenty of time to run a spike.

Still remember Nutt being an idiot and allowing Casey Dick to throw out of our own endzone on the first play of the second drive.

We all knew what was coming the minute he dropped back.

Interception and quick score for Bama.

Also the only real moment Nutt showed he was smart, Arkansas intercepts a pass in the 4th at the 30 ish yd line. 3 straight straight runs Dmac and we were in the endzone to tie it up.

Actually Bama still had receivers in the endzone and no there weren’t 30 seconds left. They couldn’t have gotten lined up in time to spike the ball before the game ended. That’s why Saban was on the field screaming for a measurement. He actually should have been penalized for being down field outside the box.

I think the main thing about that game was that Alabama had not had a 4th quarter comeback in something like 5 years.

That 2007 was a good team that derped a lot of games. Lost to Auburn without a TD. Had a halftime lead against Kentucky, fumbled and lost. Lost to Bama in the final seconds.

I just watched the replay of that play my friend.
1. "The End zone" was 4 yards away. No WR was more than 14 yards from the LOS
2. Yes, there was 0:30 left on the clock when he was tackled.
3. Watching the replay - Saban doesn't actually say anything during the measurement. The refs call for a measurement, and when the camera does cut back to Saban he's just pacing on the sideline.

Does this help?

Replay of game starting during the play in question.

Seems like you have some incorrect memories of that play.
