I mean it wasn’t even a normal season. I’m not getting into the covid stuff. But that 1995 Nebraska team was on a different planet good.

Nebraska then was near unstoppable, but could they stop 2019 LSU or 2020 Alabama?

I doubt it. Those guys would not physically dominate present day linemen like they did the ones back then, and yes that system would deal the defenses of today fits no doubt. But they would be clueless as to how to stop what would get thrown at them.

Frazier threw for 1300 years that season. I can think of 5 BAMA defenses that would shout that team's water off.

Ask anyone ever who has any experience on betting - 2020 LSU would be a minimum of a 6 point favorite on a neutral field

The '19 LSU team wouldn't have covered that line against the '19 Alabama team much less last year's team!

However, what was the SECs bowl record last year?

I love how you guys pound your chest about the SEC’s bowl record in a bowl season that could have a team that won zero games participating in it

Some of your qualifiers are quite literally things that no other team in the past or in the future can even prop themselves up with.
-an all-SEC schedule
-an open invite bowl season

Are none of you Alabama fans intelligent enough to acknowledge that?

This logic would tell you that a 8 year old girl in 2021 is smarter than Albert Einstein because if you gave them both a smartphone and asked them to make a tik tok, the former would be able to figure it out faster.

Even at full strength Ohio State would not have been able to stop Alabama's offense (truth be told, Alabama could have scored what they wanted in that game.)

My point was that I think it’s a little ridiculous crowning a “GOAT” team after defeating an Ohio State team that played 8 games. What Bama did was impressive, no doubt, but in a shortened season with opt outs, no spring ball, and limited interaction due to a pandemic it seems absolutely absurd crowning them the greatest team of all time.

2019 LSU went into Tuscaloosa (with actual fans in the stands) and beat Alabama convincingly when bama had a better QB and WR's with Tua, Jeudy, and Waddle playing.

It's really not even close.

2020 Bama was good, but we don’t really know how good. The SEC was down, no other really good teams and they beat ND who never truly belongs at the very top and a 7-win Ohio State team.

As much as it sucks for Alabama fans, 2020 was an asterisk year. I would love to see that Bama team play in a normal season where there were real dragons to slay, but we didn’t get to.

You or ESPN can call them the greatest, or whatever you want to, that’s your preogative, but in my mind, they won’t have proven enough to be called that.

2019 LSU going on the road and giving Alabama it’s only loss (with Tua) and blowing the doors off the defending champs who had won 30 in a row, along with some other really good victories will stand the test of time.

Maybe 2020 Bama could have done all that, but we can only speculate.

And?

Requesting a graphic detailing our substantial amount of awards over 2019 LSU is a bad thing?

Ok.

All kidding aside 2019 LSU and 2020 Bama can BOTH make arguments for being the GOAT'S... If they played 10 times the series would be split... NEITHER offense would be stopped... Both offenses would give the 2011 Bama & LSU defenses fits...

That said, Bama's the current champs and they beat that arse handily... DWI

I will as soon as you find me a bowl team that didn't have a win, or someone who honestly doesn't consider an all-SEC schedule impressive.

Lol point flew over the head. It’s the principle that a team could win no games and still make a bowl in the 2020 season

Are you still doing that thing when you brag about the bowl performance of 3-win team to prop up the SEC?

You guys are essentially Lakers fans claiming theyre the greatest NBA champ of all time and using playing in a bubble as a reason why.

Well...how was the performance

By all means look at the games, players, and results and rebut that dumb Lakers fan. But thats not the path you've taken. Rather than providing data and context, your argument is stating that we shouldnt have the argument, that we shouldnt look at any data, and accusing others of ignoring context
