Cool.

Feel free to start a response thread highlighting that.

Sure it does.

2019 SEC teams played 8 conference games

2020 SEC teams played 10.

If you can't differentiate between that then you're a moron.

Nah, makes no difference at all.

4 of 2019 LSU's 9 SEC opponents had winning records vs other SEC teams.

4 of 2020 Alabama's 11 SEC opponents had winning records vs other SEC teams.

Using cupcakes to pad win totals had nothing to do with anything.

2019 SEC West record: 28-28

2020 SEC West record: 39-29

Looks like a pretty big difference to me.

And again, you beat 4 teams with a winning record in conference while 2019 LSU also beat 4 teams with a winning record in conference.

That takes the entire OOC cupcakes argument off the table.

All these accolades came in a year where teams couldn’t even field full teams. Starters were out. Big time position players opted out. The Big Ten and PAC 12 didn’t start until the end of October. This year was an absolute shite show. But yeah Bama you fielded the best most accomplished team of all time. I’m not even saying LSU is the best team of all time but this last years schedule was a joke compared to 19. Be proud of 2020 but quit making yourself look insecure and pathetic.

You do realize playing those additional cupcakes would have removed two SEC games off their schedule, right?

So basically, you're gonna hang your hat on a pure hypothetical that lets you take those seven 5-loss opponents of yours and replace 2 of their 5 losses with sure wins over cupcakes, although you have no clue if said 5-loss opponents still wouldn't have ended up with 5 L's.

Yikes! Seems some insecure fans of other teams didn’t care for ESPNs ranking of the best team of all time.

Am I going to have to do this again? 2020 Alabama was the better team, period.

Both teams at full strength playing late in the season, the Alabama defense was every bit the equal of LSU. Patrick Surtain is a first round lockdown corner and the rest of the secondary had matured and was playing good football. The LB's were improved over the previous year and the OLB's were solid pass rushers. Not to mention Christian Barmore had played his way into being mentioned as high as late first round on some draft boards.

LSU might have had the edge at punter, but not at kicker as Will Reichard did not miss a single kick the entire season. None. The return game would have Devonta Smith and a healthy Jaylen Waddle. Advantage Alabama.

On offense the aforementioned Heisman Winner Smith, Waddle, John Metchie and TE Jahleel Billingley were the equal if not better than LSU'S WR corps. Najee Harris is as good as anyone and Mac Jones played as good as anyone, ever.

You can argue the skill positions but the one place you cannot, and the thing that really separates the two teams, is offensive line.

You could get to Joe Burrow. Alabama did 5 times in 2019 and knocked him around some more. It was VERY hard to get to Mac Jones and the Alabama OL were real mashers blocking for the run too. This was likely the best Alabama OL unit ever and this is where the difference in the game would be.

Huh, there's to be a particular team missing from that SP+ list.

Oh well, math doesn't lie.

Wasn’t only LSU who had some players that opted out. Not chase’s fault for making a smart career decision. The kid sits out and still goes ahead of Smith. Genius.

You can make a damn strong argument!

-Beat the 2nd through 12th best teams in the SEC (most SEC wins of all time)

-Most Power-5 wins of all time

-Never trailed in the 4th Quarter. The defense was on the field in a one score game for only 19 plays All year

-One game decided by fewer than 15 points

-Most awards ever taken home by a single team

-Beat the Final AP Poll #2, #4, and #5 teams by an average of 24 points. None ran a 4th quarter play when the score was within 21 points

The 2020 Bama team was great but also played arguably one of the worst SEC schedules ever. I can’t remember a time when 10/14 teams in the conference had 5 losses or more. A&M and UGA were super overrated. LSU sucked. Auburn sucked. Leave it to ESPN to crown “the greatest team of all time” after they beat a team that only played 8 games.
