To me it seemed Kentucky ran a more set offense and highball screens then backdoor cuts off that.
Arkansas was more dominant on the block with Corliss and Stewart but you couldn't pack in the defense because of Thurman and Day. Both offenses were lethal.

Its the same thing but why are we calling it 2 different things.

Maybe it's because of the way each team full court pressed. On every made basket it was coming..lol

I always thought that the earlier 1990-1992 squads were more talented, but they had the misfortune of running into those crazy UNLV squads and then the Laettner/Hurley Duke teams.

My high school coach in Mississippi wanted to run our own version of 40 minutes. The problem was we didn’t have the players Arkansas had lol.

Tune in to watch the greatest team in NCAA history

The 1996 Kentucky Wildcats

Those were both fun teams to watch. That '96 SEC tournament finals between MSU and Kentucky was a blast to watch in person. I loved that Kentucky team, but MSU was so damn feisty that year, they were hard not to pull for.

Was in school 90-95. Those teams were fantastic. As good as they were, I’ve never seen a team like the UNLV team that came to Barnhill in 91. Amazed the game was as close as it was.

Arkansas averaged 93 points a game and I think it was a record setting stat until over a decade later.

Each player was a gym rat in an era where video games wasn't a big deal yet and they played basketball every chance they got.

I would say with good confidence the 94 team would spank a lot of teams today because they are just so developed and as shooters are off the charts.

They better show Kentucky’s 31 point comeback vs LSU from ‘94.

I agree. You had some colorful coaches and very good teams across the league. Kentucky and Arkansas were the lead dogs, but the rest of the pack was pretty good too.

Alabama has some incredible teams in the 90's.

Its from the secn documentary. Quote from stephen mcgee? Arkansas style was called street ball while Kentucky was called uptempo. I cleaned it up with the street ball.

The talking heads said arkansas players wasnt smart enough to play against Duke.

It was said by the talking heads that if Duke won it is because they are the smarter team. If Arkansas won it is because they are more athletic team.

This angered Nolan.

The 90s was a highlight for the SEC. Kinda ironic that this decade is starting to mirror those times. We could see 8 SEC teams in the big dance.

From what I understand Oliver Miller was hurt and he either played or not again Duke in the final four.

The 1990 final four team had more NBA talent than the 94 team but I think the 94 team has better depth.

That would be pretty difficult since Thurman and Day never played together

The 94 team can certainly give the UNLV team some problems.
