These 4 non-conf games matter more than almost anything else on the schedule this year imo

Texas vs Ohio State
Oklahoma @ Michigan
Alabama vs Florida State
LSU vs Clemson

If the sec just goes 4-0 in these games i genuinely think it shuts up basically every "SEC is overrated" take going into the season. like a 3-loss SEC team gets in the playoff no questions asked and the whole b10-is-better thing just kinda dies. not saying the sec ever actually fell off, just that this would shut everyone up about it..

Does 3-1 do it? Texas is a must win..?

Thoughts..?

The question is does the conference pull for a Texas win over osu or is the F Texas too strong?

All those games are way too early to make that call, 4-0 or not.

What if they all end up 8-4 and they split on the 4 games you mentioned?

If the SEC is hanging it's hat on beating a shitty FSU and a thunderously average Clemson we might as well call ourselves the upper division of the Sun Belt.

Barring those two teams have miracle turn arounds this season ain't nobody going to be impressed by SEC teams beating them. Losing to them would be a disaster. Winning would saving grace.

Shoot. Arkansas at Utah means a lot more than both games. If lowly Arkansas is competitive with or (it won't happen) knocks off the Utes than the SEC can puff its chest out in that a bottom feeder hung with a legit playoff contender.

NEVER CHEER FOR THOSE TOOLS.

Ever. Take OSU and the over, Sark gets re-exposed as a tier II coach, panic ensues, and the collapse begins...again.

No it don't. Michigan, FSU, and Clemson aren't contenders.

What happened to the last 3 loss SEC team to make the playoffs?

I said it did and so has everyone else who isn't in denial and watch the sport.

I would throw in the Ole Miss vs Louisville game. That’s not a gimme.

Outside of Texas v. Ohio State the SEC team will be 10+ point favorites. At worst it should be a very easy 3-1

Need to go at least 3-1.

2-2 will be detrimental.

2-2 won't matter if the L's are to Clemson and FSU. Will matter a great deal if its the other way around.

Has nothing to do with Texas, but I’d like to see the SEC go 1-3 in those 4 games

Texas vs Ohio State

This is really the main one. If Ohio State goes down early to an SEC team, that pretty much decides which league has the upper hand.

Oklahoma vs Michigan is a distant second since it deals with the Big10’s second program.

Bama vs FSU and LSU vs Clemson don’t matter anymore than Auburn vs Baylor, Kentucky vs Louisville, S Carolina vs Clemson etc. No matter what happens, we all know the SEC is stronger than the ACC top to bottom. The only real difference makers are SEC vs Big10 games.

All of those are irrelevant if one SEC school can't win the NC.

LSU and Bama likely roll. The other 2 are toss ups.
