I agree, the SEC was amazing, the best ever. Let's just call the current era Modern Times for this analogy. When I was a kid, I think in 86...the old Big East had 3 teams in the Final Four. Nova beat MemphisSt, then took down Georgetown ( who defeated Providence in the semis) for the title. That is the only comparison I could see that approaches what the SEC did this year.

Go back a little bit, and Rick Pitino & Bobby Petrino made quite a duo at Louisville...and both were coaching there AFTER their scandals were known.
If you go way back..Jerry Tarkainian and Ron Meyer were the coaches at UNLV. The same Ron Meyer that would build the Pony Excess program at SMU. Both were labeled cheaters back in the 80s

No, I just saw this. They are currently at 86 scholarships..technically 1 over, as all schools are to pair down to 85 with no paid NIL "Walk ons". So short of an unbelievable talent that wanted to be here...we were set. The info I got, was they wanted a class around 20-21 hs kids that were mostly blue chip studs, or kids they thought could develop well and play at a high level in year 3. It seams they didn't get all the targets they wanted. The Jalen Brown, Crutchfield, and Sensabaugh transfer caught them by surprise though, so they over did it on transfers, again...supposedly

One of those "Stars" is ours, we invented "Homecoming", founded Bass Pro Shops, Anheiser Busch, & Walmart was founded by a Mizzou grad, and Roadhouse was filmed in Missouri!! (to this day, it remains unclear if it was based on a true story).

I've heard so many angles on this lawsuit, I'm not sure what to believe. Honestly, I don't know if he will be richly paid, or won't get a nickel. He won't settle for now though...so who knows. The word down here is he is headed to Miami.

It's my opinion, that Drink is making sure we have a serviceable SEC for this season. Only Williams has more than 1 year of eligibility, Guidice is in case Connor takes a while to recover, then he is guard depth or a starter at Guard. Trost fits our scheme at RT. Both are done after this year. Whispers say K Green will stay at LG, he doesn't have the feet for tackle. Javon Richardson is close to being an SEC LT, but not quite there yet. Reichart is in the driver seat, but Caleb Pyform is solid behind him for now...as far as HS recruits we've brought in. So I believe we are buying time and insurance for this year only, while some of our HS recruits develop some more. I should say, Solis has been a pleasant surprise as well. You need quality & depth on Oline, or you can be overwhelmed, like Ou was with a few injuries.

He is a tweener, and takes this for what it is worth.. was rumored to have an attitude problem during the recruiting cycle. IDK if it's why we didn't prioritize him last cycle. Also hearing Nebraska about him...and we know how sneaky and shady those guys are.

As I watched, I got the same surprise feeling as I did last off season when Chip Kelly resigned as HC @ UCLA. I got why he did it, but to what end. Well..I just watched it. That team looked sharp, fast, & prepared. Their experienced talent showed. Say what you will about Ryan Day, but he nailed that hire. The Michigan debacle aside, THAT was old Bama & UGA like.

Whose this we? You roughnecks just got here. You benefit from just standing next to the trash that is Texas, and being decent. YOU ARE NOT part of a group laughing at anyone. You are 6-6 & are lucky you didn't Vandy or Kentucky. Period. You have no oline, and new QB..albeit a great one, and a new system..and you added more FCS players than SW MO ST. Stay in your lane and keep the training wheels on until you hit 8-4. Then come talk some smack. Be mindful, that Auburn got better, LSU will be better, + you travel to Rocky Top and Brice. You may go 0-8 in the SEC next year, and lose to Michigan to boot.
