10-2. 9-3 worst case. Losses to Hero Bama, Older bully step-bro LSU, and either MSU or Colorado .

Not with that schedule it doesn’t.

But they play in the horrific SEC West.

Seriously. Who do you think plays a tougher schedule that would be a contender for the playoff?

Clemson? No. Ohio State? Maybe. Oklahoma? No. Oregon? No.

I mean, I think LSU will have a good year, and then A&M also plays Alabama. If Arkansas continues to show promise...I mean do you think the PAC 12 or Big 12 could send somebody if they lose even 1 game?

It's not an easy schedule, but it's about as easy as you could hope for as a team from the West.

- no Georgia or Florida and 2 of your East opponents are Vanderbilt and South Carolina

- 1 power 5 OOC game against a team that isn't very good

Still not an easy schedule, but definitely as good as you could hope for.

Aggie will lose to Bama, Ole Miss, LSU. But...I think Saban is going to really go into beatdown mode because of Jimbo's comments earlier this year. Morale may spiral down after that and they lose a few more.

I haven’t looked at anyone’s schedules besides ours and this one because someone posted it. Let’s assume this scenario you posted has Bama winning the SEC.
1) Bama
2) Big 10 champ
3) Clemson
4) If Oklahoma or Texas is here at 11-1 and Big12 champs .
Notre Dame could be here at 11-1 . However I didn’t see if they played Prairieview because that could change everything.

11-1

Beat Bama, lose to Lobos. Loss puts you at #5 in CFB.

Another all-time what-if year.

A&M's defense should be elite again.

In what 2020 game did A&M’s defense ever look elite?

Here are the best 5 offenses they Favreau

Alabama (scoring Defense #2 Nat. #3 SEC) 52
Florida (# 13 Nat. #2 SEC) 38
North Carolina (#9 Nat.) 27
LSU (#39 Nat. #6 SEC) 7
Arkansas (#86 Nat. #8 SEC) 31

And North Carolina was missing Carter and Williams.
LSU was playing 2 true freshmen QBs.
And they ducked Ole Miss all together.

What’s elite about them?

With all the talk coming from college station the whole offseason of bama bama bama and more bama. aggies better be careful or the tide will beat them three times. If not totally focused on state. They could be in trouble. Can't let the hangover after losing to bama cause a bummer VS mizzou.

aggies will have a tough game against ole miss because they haven't played game time action against Kiffin. They bailed last year and took forfeit, so it will be an interesting game this year.

9-3 is perennially the ceiling with A&M (in real seasons), which won't be hit next year. It's safe to predict four losses. LSU and Bama are definite trouncings. I don't see them beating State and Ole Miss also.

They are easily the most overrated team going into the year. There'll be a Leeland Mcelroy-type collapse from the weight of the expectations in College Station.

Standard Metrics
#9 (#1 in the SEC) in Total D
#56 (#2 in the SEC) in Pass D
#2 (#2 in the SEC) in Rush D
#28 (#3 in the SEC) in Scoring D

More Complex Metrics
#20 (#3 in the SEC) F+ DEF
#19 (#4 in the SEC) PFI DEF EFF

And of course, this is vs only SEC teams plus one of the ACC's best. No Pac 12 or Big 10 shortened schedules or only playing G5 teams. So in actuality, the defense was probably better than the national #s show.

Again, what game did you look Elite during?

You had a good Defense that could beat up on shitty offenses (including LSU’s) but Alabama, Florida and even Arkansas put up points on you.

My favorite part was when they got in a dogfight with the 4th best team in the ACC who was missing most of its best players.

Sorry, we only won the Orange Bowl by 2 TDs. You're 5-5 record must have been so much more fun.
