Is Louisiana really that shitty aside from just being poor? The whole bayou thing seems kinda neat and Nola had potential before settling on being the south’s capital for drunken debauchery

New Orleans and Houston were neck & neck for the refining business in the 60's and 70's.New Orleans decided to party and Houston decided to work and build infrastructure for shipping

Faster than Huntsville?I get the touring/beach angle but Huntsville is killing it in the aerospace/IT economy

Your state looks like a desert on one side, an extension of North Mississippi, North Louisiana and southern Arkansas on one and Mexico down below with shitty beaches. Austin is in the middle and a liberal shithole. I have several family members live there and it’s a shithole. Nice State.

It was probably our crook governor Edwin Edwards who likely fricked that up royally.

You have no idea what "new arrivals" means until you live in metro ATL. I have 3 Ohio State neighbors,2 Michigan neighbors and another 2 from Penn State.

I had no idea that Alabama had 1 million more people than Oklahoma. Where are the big cities at in Bama? Oklahoma has OKC and Tulsa.

Kinda depends on what one would consider "big" but the state only has one metro area comparable to OKC and Tulsa in size and that's the Birmingham metro area which is roughly halfway between metro OKC and metro Tulsa in terms of population.

Alabama does have a decent number of fairly sizable cities spread across the state though which may account for the difference in overall population

Birmingham-Cullman-Talladega (CSA) - 1,376,706

Huntsville-Decatur-Albertville, AL (CSA) - 859,214

Mobile=Daphne-Fairhope, AL (CSA) - 665,147

Montgomery-Selma, AL (CSA) - 421,645

Tuscaloosa, AL (MSA) - 278,290

Dothan-Enterprise-Ozark, AL (CSA) - 256,866

Auburn-Opelika, AL (MSA) - 201,585

Am I the only one realizing the beauty of this irony? We're migrating north while forcing the bucktards south.

We're losing battles, but winning the war.

That South Carolina flag is badass. It rivals Maryland's flag. I've never seen it. What's its backstory? I'm genuinely curious...

South Carolina Sovereignty Flag. It was an inspiration for the Confederate flag in its later form. This is a version of an early flag raised over South Carolina shortly after its secession from the Union in 1860 (supposedly raised over Yale University by sympathizers).

Yeah and he’s already backpedaling on his promises. Who knew you couldn’t just demand that grocery prices be lowered and all stores would just comply?

If folks ain’t figured out by now that both parties just lie to you constantly and never do a damn thing to fix anything, there ain’t much hope for you.

Or else Texas and Florida had a decision to make. And looks like we would've had plenty of supporters.

From TX/OK area and I sorta like the S. Carolina people. Something about N. Carolina is different, though. Their accents in certain areas sound dumb as F. I was visiting a friend in N. Carolina one time and they were having a block party with tons of food. In the serving line was a little television with a Nascar race just getting underway. I stepped in front of it to get some green beans and all the people started hollering. Hay hay Ho HO look out get out of the way!

F'n idiots. Cars runnin in a circle for 3 hours and they lost their sh*t in lap 2?

There are nice parts and it has a lot of great food but, LA is horrible governed.

One thing that is extremely apparent is that the Alabama public education system is pretty pathetic…such poor command of your first and probably only language and yet throwing shade at Louisiana….bad look.

Everything wrong with Louisiana, and I mean EVERYTHING, starts and ends with a single individual. Throughout my lifetime and to this day.

The guy was SO effective at being horrible that I almost admire him.
