I would take that 08 Florida team over any other team since the BCS era started.

Agreed. Was an amazing season. Just not the best team ever. I mean quite a few teams have had top ten offenses and defenses over the years. Some top five of both.

2019 LSU beat the #2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 14, & 25 ranked teams in the country as ranked at the end of the year.
01 Miami beat a grand total of 1 top 10 team, Nebraska 37 - 14, which was #8 in the final AP poll.
Even 95 Nebraska only has 1 top 5 win and 4 top 10 wins.
Were they dominate? Yes. But lets not pretend they faced the same schedule LSU did. Pretending otherwise is being ignorant simply to try and troll.

08 UF is underrated agreed, but did lose. Can't call them the best ever or put them in the convo with that loss.

Does not mean best team. Best season sure, but that doesn't actually mean best team. Best team means you dominated all parts of the game more than any team in history.
LSU did not do that.

All Championships count the same . Best team ever is an eye test and personal preference. Best RESUME ever or best SEASON ever is beyond debate. LSU played the hardest schedule ever , put up the most points, and won all the awards in doing so. There was no ambiguity, it was a CFB Blitzkrieg . Total Shock and Awe.

You can't compare stats from 2019 to those of 1971. Different philosophies and rules.
By that I'm admitting that as good as it was 2019's LSU's O is inflated to some degree by how the game is played today, just like the D is undermined. Today stop rate and yards per play is more relevant than total yards given. In those stats LSU had a very good D for 2019 standards.
The relevant comparison is resumes. Envious people say "Texas sucked and it was counted as a top 10 win". Well let's go by the final poll:
LSU beat 5 teams in the final Top 8. The only other 2 teams in the top 8 were beaten by teams LSU beat. Those 5 top 8 teams were 60-4 vs the field, 0-5 vs LSU. Average margin of defeat 20 points per game . 2 other teams LSU beat finished in the final top 25.
No one can touch that with a 12 foot poll. Not even close.

FYI its best TEAM ever, defense is just a part. We were beating Ole Miss 28-0 a couple min into the 2nd qtr, those guys were mentally already on the bus. Also played Bama the week before leaving a few players injured. Also Which one of those teams won the Heisman along with the other 8 or so that individual and team awards LSU won, I guess that was rigged or something.
You just mad after all this time with great coaches over there at FL that LSU now holds the title of Greatest Team Ever.

Miami was lucky not to lose to a very average Va Tech team. Nebraska played at a different time with not the competition.

Who cares? We are the first SEC team in history to go 15-0. We can argue about if LSU had the best season or not. I don't care because we have the natty!!!!
