That should be considered one of the worst coached games of Saban's career. TWICE inside the 20 yd. line late in the 4th quarter to put the game away (10 pt. lead). He's got a kid on the bench who can kick a 30 yd field goal, but opts for a guy who the spine of a jellyfish, then goes for a 1st down on 4th and 1 around the 20 yd line with a dive play that everyone in the stadium knew was coming.....Yep, Saban owns that monstrosity of a coaching job.

Nobody but bitch arse Auburn fans thought the guy that was making about 15% of his FG attempts was gonna hit a 60 yard FG.

That FG guaranteed OT and guaranteed an Auburn win. No way Bama was beating Auburn in OT at that Voodoo hell hole.

I wasn’t worried at all so not sure what that was about. It was a Bama kicker.

Also, Auburn had all the momentum heading into a possible OT. Bama looked tired and I felt we would win. However, that finish was one for the ages.

Hailmary was the call. Mc could throw to end zone. Make it or not. You get OT if you don’t make it…

Neat. Neither do we.

Benjamin was what 6’2 where Davis was under 6. It was the natural call. What broke our back was the two missed tackles when Aubie had them back in FSU side with about under 2 left I think. Those missed tackles set it up. Heartbreaker!

I thought there was a small chance he could make it because he had a big leg and it was a worry free kick. I was super nervous it would get blocked and run back.

I did not, even after seeing a guy deep, have any thought about a miss being run back.

I did not feel good at all about overtime.

Hindsight 20/20 but Saban really should have attempted the 30ish yard field goal to go up 10 with a couple of minutes left in the 4th. Obviously Cade Foster sucked and was rattled but that puts the game away

I put the chance at him missing a 30ish yarder at about 95% that night.

Dude was toast after he missed that short one really bad earlier in the game.

Yea, we lost the game when we didn't capitalize on 2 trips inside the 30 in the 4th. Had 2 golden chances to basically end the game and fricked them up. Gave Auburn more chances and that Auburn team wasn't one to give extra chances.

That 4th quarter is one of the reasons Nuss got fired

I actually told all the folks around my seats we were going to return it for a TD. The lesbians two row behind my seats grab me and said we were headed to the casino in south Alabama to go gambling afterwards.

Yeah that's why the Natty later hurt so much. All year long that team found ways to win. Just needed a little opening and they'd take it for the win.

When Mason scored I remember thinking "damn, we left them a lot of time." But I'd also watched that team come up with some clutch plays so I was also thinking someone would step up and make a play on the defense. But alas, Winston and Benjamin were too much. That final FSU drive was a 2 minute drill clinic, if you can view it objectively. Ughhh, frick me

Okay? What does that have to do with our loss to FSU?

This goes for the Alabama fans in this thread that don't seem to remember this...Y'all do know that Cade Foster missed all the earlier kicks and Saban brought out Adam Griffith for the 57 yarder, right? I can't blame Adam for that kick, he did come kinda close to hitting it. I 100% blame Cade for being arse all the time.

In 2013, if Bama beat Auburn by a kick 6, then we went on to lose to FSU, we’d never even mention the kick 6 again. Cool endings to Regular season games don’t mean that much when you have 18 titles

The two flaws, IMO, Saban still has are 1.) his reluctance to use timeouts, especially on defense (see Ole Miss 2020), and 2.) He coaches so uptight in JHS. He use to coach uptight against LSU every year but has kind of gotten out of that habit. He was 100% uptight in his pregame interview in 2019 and I said to my LSU fan friend at that moment "He doesn't think his team can win today."

Sat there speechless for a few minutes,
finished draining a bottle of Modelo Negra
and went to bed.
Auburn fan response to that play registered
on seismographs across the state of Alabama,
similar to a play in the Auburn-LSU game in 1988.

It was unreal. Greatest finish in sports history. Bama the two time defending champions, undefeated, kicking a FG to go for the threepeat. Auburn coming off an 0-8 SEC Season. Most folks thought Bama would make it when Nick got one second back... The Bama fans were pumped, the Auburn fans worried. Then the game was over and we won. Greatest feeling in the world. We won the SEC the next wee

The explosion of noise when he broke free it and was obvious he was going to score was something I’ll never forget. I was yelling and jumping as loud as I physically could. But it was so loud I couldn’t hear myself yelling. I literally felt the crowd noise.

Don't be so sure. You know that would have resulted in the greatest pick-6 of all time.
