You think we celebrate losing to FSU?

2010 up that much to lose because we put a one arm safety on the field pose dme off way more than 2013. It wasn’t a fluke play. It should have been anticipated. Bad coaching caused that.

Hindsight 20/20 but Saban really should have attempted the 30ish yard field goal to go up 10 with a couple of minutes left in the 4th

Worst coaching decision that Saban has made, IMO.
Bama was up 7.
On the 13 yard line
5 minutes to go.
If we had a kicker with any pulse, you have to kick the FG there.
Our kicker had missed 2 FGs at that point, but had made all XPs.
It was only a 30 yard attempt, but it was 4th and 1 and I guess Saban thought he could make one yard and burn off more clock.

It was like this

I remember being at a waffle house the next morning at 6am and I had still not been to bed

It was that kind of night

Don't know who you were talking to, but pretty much no one I knew thought we made that kick.

Didn't expect the return, of course, but our kicker wasn't making a 50+ yard FG. It was an insanely low % chance.

I didnt think he would make it and I didnt think Bama would win in overtime. I just felt the momentum was on Auburns side and we would run the ball in the enzone in overtime anytime we wanted.

Bama had a clear edge early. Auburn late.

That play was impossible to stop. Their guy was better than our guy. By a lot

Not a single Bama fan thought that. He trotted out a true freshman that hadn't kicked a FG all season I don't think. Maybe one or two. It was a desperation kick, at best.

People forget a critical penalty on Bama in the 4th quarter that took a FG off the board. False start was called but on the replay it didn't look like anyone moved at all. They missed the attempt after the penalty.

There was also a holding call on a running play that went to the one yard line. There was a hold, but it was behind the play. It's one of those holds that doesn't always get called.

It may have been clearer than I remember though. I haven't watched that game since then, for obvious reasons.

Saban has been good at blowing Iron Bowls, the 2010 will always stand out, he had an entire campaign created with 'Never Again' signs all around the football complex then 2013 rolled around and topped 2010.

There was a block in the back on the kick off that wasnt called that gave you the chance to win the game as well.

Not a road to go down

Yeldon ran it to about the 5. It would've been 1st and goal from the 5 with about 3 min to play. Probably would've iced the game. The holding call on Howard was pretty weak, but he did have the defender on the outside of his shoulder pads. Also on that play, White and Mincy got into a tussle and got offsetting personal fouls.

Rewatching this game on SEC network right now. I go to every LSU game and I know what it’s like to be at crazy college football games. What was it like being in that stadium when he ran that kick back? I’d imagine it was nuts. I’ve been to Auburn many times and love the atmosphere. I’ve always said Auburn is definitely one of the most underrated college football experiences.

We were there and for the Prayer in Jordan-Hare as well. I remember walking back to the car after the Jawja game and saying to my wife, "I don't care how long I live, I ain't never seeing no !@#$ like that again."

I remember leaving the car to go to the stadium for the IB 2 weeks later, and there was a car a fans split between UA/AU and having some discussion with them about what might happen and I would only go as far as "someone is going to sing Rammer Jammer."

I also remember a feeling of disbelief building throughout the game, and then getting to "this might actually happen when Marshall connected with Coates for the tying TD. I was actually being caught a little unawares that the play was still live as the Kick Six was developing. Then, just wow.

Couldn't believe Saban kicked. Surely a Hail Mary would have had a better chance.

I wonder what would have happened in OT. I would have probably said 60% chance AU wins (with the better kicker). OTOH, the effectiveness of the HUNH may be diminished in OT.

Postscript, we saw and met Sammie Coates at Toomer's Corner after the 2019 IB. Cool moment. Let me just say, that guy is RIPPED.

Oh, that play/season means so much to them, and they didn’t even pick up the Natty? I don’t think I’d ever celebrate 2nd Place that hard

It was a fun year for me. Sorry Im not a idiot fan like you. Did you cut yourself after the Iron Bowl that year? How many years have you ran with the gumps?

You're ridiculous.

They say we celebrate 2nd place like we didn’t win the SEC. Obviously the loss to FSU hurts, but those plays let us win the conference.

Sorry we’re not all part of a decade+ dynasty?

No, I think you celebrate the way you beat Georgia & Alabama that season, when the overall outcome was watching another team lift the Natty. No natty, no satisfaction for me. I guess I’m over celebrating regular season wins 10 years later because my teams won so many nattys

In 2013, if Bama beat Auburn by a kick 6, then we went on to lose to FSU, we’d never even mention the kick 6 again. Cool endings to Regular season games don’t mean that much when you have 18 titles

I did not have a good time. It was a silent walk to the car and a silent 2 hour drive back to Atlanta.

Just had to stand in the end zone (where Davis scored) and soak it all in. Not fun, but the sort of thing that makes the wins a lot more fun.

Or don't run it up the middle on 4th and 1 when Auburn has every body up on the line.

Auburn also had an ineligible man downfield (like 7 yards at that) on the game tying touchdown, but whatever.
