Rewatching this game on SEC network right now. I go to every LSU game and I know what it’s like to be at crazy college football games. What was it like being in that stadium when he ran that kick back? I’d imagine it was nuts. I’ve been to Auburn many times and love the atmosphere. I’ve always said Auburn is definitely one of the most underrated college football experiences.

It was unreal. Greatest finish in sports history. Bama the two time defending champions, undefeated, kicking a FG to go for the threepeat. Auburn coming off an 0-8 SEC Season. Most folks thought Bama would make it when Nick got one second back... The Bama fans were pumped, the Auburn fans worried. Then the game was over and we won. Greatest feeling in the world. We won the SEC the next week.

I drove straight from Auburn to New Orleans without even stopping for a piss break until I was in Mississippi. Worst feeling ever.

Don't know who you were talking to, but pretty much no one I knew thought we made that kick.

Didn't expect the return, of course, but our kicker wasn't making a 50+ yard FG. It was an insanely low % chance.

They never replay the ones where we blow Auburn out.

I was at the game. Jaw dropped for 10 minutes after. Drove back in silence back to Tuscaloosa that night with my buddies.

Cade Foster missed 6 FG's in the 2011 LSU game and the 2013 Iron bowl

Didn’t the guy who ran the kick back have the winning play in the national championship game a few weeks later?

Hindsight 20/20 but Saban really should have attempted the 30ish yard field goal to go up 10 with a couple of minutes left in the 4th. Obviously Cade Foster sucked and was rattled but that puts the game away

Same, I was 100% certain it was just another missed FG but felt just as certain we’d lose in OT anyways.

I was on crutches with a broken leg, as soon as Chris Davis turned the corner on the sideline I just got up in silence, hobbled up the stairs to the bedroom and took a pain pill lol could hear my dad still screaming in anguish down in the living room

Oh, that play/season means so much to them, and they didn’t even pick up the Natty? I don’t think I’d ever celebrate 2nd Place that hard

Wasn't it already well established that Bama kickers were snake-bitten before the 2013 Iron Bowl?

I thought the 2011 game against LSU and at least one other game had cemented that reputation well before 2013.

Edit: (Heck, now that I watch the replay, Gary Danielson made the prediction of a return a split second before the ball was snapped.)

I had no doubt we were going to miss it, I just didn't expect it to happen the way it did.
