And despite people claiming on here that other conferences wouldn’t pick them up, we all know that’s untrue.
The ACC would probably leap at that.
LSU would have a weaker schedule in conference too.
Would make NC runs easier.
Hell, maybe they should push for that.

Not a single school will vote to remove LSU from the SEC.
A. It is just stupid to consider removing a founding member that brings great financial gain to the conference over some temporary issues and egos.
B. Alongside it hurting the conference from the loss of LSU, the better course for the conference, assuming they want them gone, which they don't, would be to punish them and make the University and its fans so pissed off and isolated that they leave. Then, the SEC keeps their media rights until 2034 and gets paid for them to exit.
That said, neither will happen. It is just posturing nonsense and a waste of resources. Time to move forward. Message sent that the Conference majority will is the rule, and likely, the message is received. If not, maybe things actually get more real in the future, but not now.

LSU would suffer a lot more. The loss of the revenue from the TV contract alone would be huge. The SEC could add FSU or North Carolina and not miss a beat from a national interest perspective. It's insane that it's even being discussed at this point. I just think Sankey had his feelings hurt because LSU embarrassed him in court.

I'm pretty sure the 2 Texas schools would vote with Ole Miss and Tennessee. This would underscore the amazing level of hypocrisy in Austin, btw.
Seriously doubt Bama would vote to expel a charter member over Sankey being butthurt and embarrassed.

Nah, you don’t go to court to do something you already have the power to do.
The SEC is making sure LSU won’t challenge the vote in a Louisiana court of law. If they weren’t serious, they wouldn’t be seeking to block any legal action by LSU.

Well, I think there is something to this. Sankey isn’t going into a vote blind. He’s been seeking consensus behind the scenes. How devastating would it be for SEC rules enforcement if he held a vote and it failed. The Wild West would get even wilder.
All that said, LSU isn’t going anywhere. There will be some type of compromise reached. Likely LSU will agree to not roster players who have “signed contracts” with professional sports teams and this will all go away.
