Fawley was flawless behind home plate defensively for 18 innings and hit .333 with two doubles and a run scored. He reached base in both games. Not sure what else you want out of a catcher hitting 7th.

If we make a run in Omaha, whoever convinced bianco to play Randle in the outfield needs a raise. No way we win this super with Topher Jones or Brett Moseley as an auto out in the lineup.
3-6 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI in the 7 hole is clutch.

But regardless he is what he is. He’s a true two outcome guy and im at peace with that but it doesn’t mean I can’t still bitch about it lol. He had a good night Friday, and he is a good defensive catcher. I’m happy for him and the rest of the boys but especially Furniss and Utermark for not giving in these last four years. Hope we can make some noise next weekend

Furniss had a tough SR at the plate up until that last swing. No one will remember the 8 ABs that came before that now. He really struggled defensively against Murray State last season in the Oxford Regional. The guy obviously put in a ton of fielding work this past offseason and he’s been nails at 1B this June. He’s had some tough hops and several high throws and picks to make this postseason and handled them all.
