Our resume is better than Ole Miss is getting credit for

First: Texas Tech is a legit top 25 team and they’ve shown that by consistently destroying every team they’ve played so far this year. (Including #15 OK State 41-17 last night)

Second: Alabama is far and away the best team in the nation so our blowout loss to them means just as much as anyone else's

Third: Every team in the SEC West besides Bama is vulnerable this year. I’m not saying we’ll beat all of them by any stretch, but 7 wins is entirely possible.

It's still early to be making sweeping judgements like that

So losing to them by 60 last year and 62-7 this year is ok because they are good?

This applies to all teams. Anything can happen and unless you're Alabama, something more than likely go wrong. CFB is getting more difficult every season.

If our defense didn’t look so terrible I’d agree

It’s not good but it’s not a winnable game either, so why do you care so much if it’s by 60 or by 28? A moral victory against Bama that important to you?

They’re definitely trash, but they also played their best game of the season yesterday and have played against some pretty good offenses. Texas Tech has scored 77,63, and 41 in their other three games this year. We held them to 27. We gave up 63 to Bama, but they average 50+ per game.

The big stain is still 38 points in a half to SIU. If that game goes as planned (55-24 or something)then nobody jumps off the ledge

Agree. So far this season we’ve seen that Ole Miss can play really bad football, but we’ve also seen that they can play pretty good football too. If the team wins 7-8 games, it’s a good season. If they win less than 6, Matt Luke is gonna be on the hot seat next year and rightfully so.

60 tells me the team checked out and never believed we could win. 28 tells me the coaches and players at least made an effort

Guys this is the best Bama team they’ve ever had under Saban but Freeze would’ve beaten them with the same coaches and players. This is squarely on the shoulders of Matt Luke.

Did I say Freeze would have won? No. But I guarantee you he wouldn't have gotten bitch slapped like we have the last two years.

We would be a lot more competitive overall. It wouldn't look like the entire program was falling apart and I guarantee you, we would have had more in the stands.

So you may not know this but fan attendance is a very complicated measure that has to do with a lot of things outside of who the coach is.

1: Attendance in college football is down overall over the past several years, a trend that looks to be continuing if not accelerating this year.
2. The performance indicator tied most closely to attendance averages? Season ticket sales based on last year’s performance and pre-season hype. In-season success doesn’t impact ticket sales for that season nearly as much as you’d think.
3. Fatigue. Attendance diminishes during games held in consecutive weeks. Fewer come to games in back-to-back weeks. Ole Miss just played three in-a-row. I could have told you when the schedule came out that Kent State would be the most poorly attended game of the season.
4. Fair-weather fans. People are less likely to attend games where poor weather threatens, especially if it’s an OOC game.

In short, your chicken littling is exhausting. Ole Miss got absolutely waylayed by the NCAA penalties and we’re going to suffer for several more years because of them. Hopefully we’ll make the right hire after Matt Luke is fired in two or three years and we can start to compete for championships again if Nick Saban will retire/die in the next 10.

I bet we’d be more competitive and have a lot more people in the stands if Freeze didn’t get us into a 2 year bowl ban by talking shite to the NCAA and didn’t get himself fired

Y’all live in a fantasy world where none of that can possibly be tied to our current situation.
