I wouldn't be surprised if Godwin now ends up at South Carolina.

If we missed our chance at him I will never forgive Keith. Not that he cares. But what a colossal blunder that would be

bullshite. Look at the state of our football program and we have Chris Beard as our basketball coach. Carter is still the best AD we have ever had.

I wouldn’t say that. It’s definitely a sour note keeping #5 but hiring & keeping both Kiffin and Beard gives him a lot more wiggle room for failure than not firing Bianco takes away.

Plus, even though I think Godwin is a good coach, I don’t think he’s in the elite tier of top coaches (like we have with football and arguably basketball) and I think we could do better.

South Carolina just fired a guy that went to a regional. We are keeping a guy that shouldn't have gone to the SEC tournament.

He’s also a guy that won a national title two years ago and is our programs winningest coach in its history by a wide margin. He’s top 5 all time in wins in SEC history as well. Yeah the last two seasons have sucked, but to say Carter has burned all the good will he has earned because he’s keeping Bianco another year is just insane

Maybe that will lower his stock some and SC passes on him.

I still want him. We have never won an Oxford Super. We haven't hosted one in 15 years. It's time for a change.

Goodwin has peaked at ECU. I think their ace was injured too for the regional which stings. I think he could be an elite coach. I would be a little surprised if South Carolina doesn’t offer him.

If we make the playoff with Kiffin and regularly make the big dance with Beard (as long as we can keep them both), Carter will be adored.

Yeah baseball is not going to get any AD fired. I am kind of feeling that maybe we were both lucky to squeeze in those NC's when we did. I am not sure if either of us are going to have the money to go around to fund baseball to that extent anymore.

Tennessee paying Vitello that much money today is silly. Texas may have come calling but paying someone $2.8 million a year when you can pay them $2.3 million a year is a waste of resources. I don’t care how much of a drop in the bucket $500k is. It is a waste and bad ADing.

Just not enough ROI there. Plain and simple.

They better be getting busy in the transfer portal bc we have like 65% of a catcher on the roster

2024 Florida feels a little like 2022 Ole Miss (although they aren’t quite as dominant pre-Omaha as we were)

In their defense they played at #6 Clemson in the Supers and we played at Southern Miss

No way that rumor is true. I think LSU pays Johnson 1.6 and he’s elite. There are raises that reset the market but I don’t think it applies to college baseball. If it’s true the Haslam’s want Tennessee to get a natty asap

Eli Berch has entered the transfer portal. I hate it didn't work out. He is a great kid and was a stud at Jackson Prep. Great defensive catcher with his glove and his arm. He just couldn't hit SEC pitching (finished like .207 with 1 HR).

That leaves us with one catcher on the roster. Campbell Smithwick. He has a lot of potential at the plate, but is not an SEC grade catcher. Too many passed balls and can't throw anyone out. He is essentially an outfielder/DH and maybe a 3rd string catcher in a pinch.

We need to pick up two catchers in the portal, and one has to emerge as a difference maker next year if we have any hope of hosting. Glaring hole in our lineup for a coach who has always had a solid string of catchers in the mix.

Regardless Vitelli and Johnson are likely to get big raises. Rumor is Texas is going to throw the bag at both of them
