We lost because no one stepped up AT HOME.

Players were more worried about their draft status than the TEAM.

Yeah, the Rolo stuff in the dugout shouldn't have happened. ESPN shouldn't have been interviewing Rolo about the draft during the game. We lost the lead during the interview with him iirc...

And honestly, frick the MLB for having the draft DURING COLLEGE POSTSEASON GAMES. Not only was it a lot earlier this year, but clearly our players' draft stocks affected their dedication to taking care of business. We weren't the only school to have to play during the draft either though, and it was really shitty and selfish of the MLB to do that, especially with how many dead sports days otherwise would've been available, especially after the Finals and Stanley Cup finished up

Next year Mike will not allow play by play of the draft in the dugout.

Course, we will win next year in 2 games and this won't happen when Dillard, Parker and Kess go in the first round.

Likewise it with not matter next year if we miss the postseason altogether. We have to replace multiple weekend starters, and I’m not sure who the hell is going to pitch on Friday night next April. We had a prime opportunity this season, and, for a myriad of reasons, not the least of which is “that’s baseball,” we squandered it. I’m not sure when we’ll have this opportunity again, but it’d be cool if it were next season haha

It's gonna be a while before we get another opportunity like the one we had this year. Sucks, but it's true.

I imagine our next legitimate shot won’t be until Bianco’s successor is in place unfortunately. We’re going to have a #1 recruiting class in Year 3 next season, but I have no idea how a weekend rotation of McArthur (assuming he stays), Fowler, Roth, or maybe Etheridge manages not to get wrecked @ LSU and @ Arkansas next year, and we probably don’t get to avoid Florida in consecutive seasons. Plus we’ll have to go to Auburn, whose program is on a definite upswing. Those are 3 away series we know for sure we’ll have to play next season. I have no idea who the hell would be our ace in the rotation either. We had a soft regular season schedule this year, and we capitalized on it for sure, but we completely squandered our shot at Omaha

I'm gonna be honest. This past season taught me a few things about how to approach a college baseball season. I'm not gonna give a shite how they do during the first 2-3 weeks (maybe a little more) of the season. Being ranked high, etc. just because you got off to a good start means nothing in the end. Yeah, yeah, I know it helps with the regional, super regional seedings and all, but if you ain't hot at the end or just don't get it done (see us) then it makes no difference. I also will have much lower expectations and so I won't be nearly as disappointed if it doesn't happen. And there is tons of proof outside of just us, that the most talented teams aren't always then ones standing in the end. For that reason, there's neither a reason to expect a bunch from us next year nor a reason to assume we ain't got a chance. Who knows how we'll do. It's anybody's guess.

I just saw that McArthur has decided to go pro, so we will have a completely new rotation next season. Motherfricker

Big Mac walked too many for my taste.

Next year, we will have Parker throw the first two innings of game one, then wholestaff, then Parker back for the last inning.

Fowler

Max C. or Roth

Next years team is going to be interesting to say the least. Veteran infield, younger outfield, completely new pitching rotation, and a lineup with plenty of good hitters mixed with a few new faces.

I just hope that whatever weekend starter set we roll out next year is able to hold its own. Replacing Rolo, Feigl, and even MacArthur is going to be tough.

Also, thanks everyone for participating in the thread this year. Sucks that our season ended the way it did, but I think we still have a few things to be proud of.

Can’t wait for football season. Our team could indeed suck, but Oxford in the fall is always a sight to behold. Y’all let me know if y’all want to meet up in the Grove sometime.

Fowler is a lock for 1 spot. He was amazing in the post season. He will be fine. Who will the others be? I think we have enough arms honestly

Right now I am not sure he has the velocity to be Friday night starter.

I meant 1 as in one of the weekend spots, maybe Saturday or Sunday. I agree I think throwing him Friday would push him a little more than he is ready for. Although I think he has the mentality to do it even if his arm isn’t quite strong enough yet

The Tennessee Teck pitchers didn't have velocity. They simply nibbled at the corners.

What's the latest on Dallas Woolfolk? Comebacks do occur.
