People have remember to no matter if a its a bye or new season.. Most of the time all our teams come out very rusty.. Even under Lane we did.

Thought Odom played extremely well as a receiving threat. Was also used as a hands in the dirt in-line blocker so seems like he can be a legit TE for us.

Most of all I'm glad we got the win. The only thing I can think about that 1st half offense is that the game plan was to hide the playbook for week 3 and be conservative. It didn't work. Louisville is too go for that. Pete is going to have to fix that secondary. Like Fireman said, we always come out rusty to start the season. I hope we see a different team by week 3 though.

Great teams win even when they play like shite. Clean up the turnovers and busted coverages and we can be really good. Trinidad had some heisman moments last night. Miami lost in a similar type game last season and played for a natty.

Yeah definitely not happy with how we looked, but being able to beat a ranked team (who's extremely well coached) while playing a C level game is a positive.
RT position really struggled at times last night. Need more than just Odom and Deuce as receiving threats. Lacy couldn't break a big one last night but he'll be fine.
Defensively we were clearly selling out all night to stop Brown from beating us - which we were successful at. Front 7 played really well for most of the game.
Secondary was atrocious though. If that doesn't get cleaned up soon we will be lucky to go 8-4 this season. Curious how it looks once Kite and Denson are both healthy as that's 2 starters we were down.

Negatives. Wayyy too many missed tackles. Can’t be a serviceable D if you can’t tackle. At one point I had to ask everyone I was watching the game with if Jalen Braxton was on the take and trying to point shave. One of the worst performances I’ve seen out of Rebel CB since Matt Luke was here. Trey Wilson is my pick for SEC POTW in 2 weeks. If we’re going to be good this season it’s going to be Trinidad putting this team on his back time after time and willing them to victory. We rotated A LOT. Almost too much at times but it was very hot and humid and now Pete knows what he has from some of these new players.
Really want to see a clean game and a blowout against Charlotte. Knight leading the offense most of the 2nd half.

I felt like Ben Garrett’s postgame analysis was spot on.
We can’t play like that and expect to be who we should be. We did nothing to prove the detractors wrong but showed flashes that the aspirations are very much in play. Consistency will be our deciding factor. All the things that went wrong are fixable and I’d love to learn a lesson after a W. We went down to the wire with fricking Arkansas last year remember.
We will be fine.

I am convinced that Kiffin wanted and tried to lose that game. It's why he was so upset afterwards. It was the defense that stepped up in the 4th.

He absolutely wanted to lose so he could say that he was going to LSU because Ole Miss wasn’t good enough to make the playoffs
