Start Simmons in the egg bowl what do we have to lose at this point? Dart has done enough he can draft prep so he be a bust at the next level

What are you smoking? You're going to miss Dart when he's gone. Believe me.

He’s been tough and I’m glad he’s been here. But now that it’s pointless let him get ready for the draft and let Simmons get ready for starting. If that makes me crazy sure I’ll take that label. I don’t care about beating state more than a shot at the sec title and potential national title which we blew completely so get ready for the future if we are serious about “contending” again.

I certainly would like to see us up enough so that Simmons gets a few series or something, but Dart absolutely has to start. Playing against State isn’t gong to do much to get Simmons ready for next year no matter how much he plays.

I see your point but it's also Dart's last 2 games as a Reb. I think he's earned the right to play in them. Hopefully Simmons will get a large chunk of playing time.

Since when is the Egg Bowl on senior day for the winningest QB in school history pointless?

It is not “playoff or bust.” Not here. Not anywhere.

It’s not bigger to me than winning the sec which is what I’ve cared about for over two decades now. The playoffs would’ve been nice sure but that’s nothing. We had exactly what had to happen actually happen Saturday and we lost anyway. Just to speak plainly yes I care about winning the sec championship than the egg bowl as I have for years.

ETA: Like I said call me crazy but I’ve been to exactly one sec title game in 01 and I’ve wanted that feeling for us ever since.

Its for the national championship man. That alone makes it bigger than a conference championship.

I also want to win the SEC. But that’s not possible this year, so I want to accomplish all we can this season before turning the page.

It matters anytime you wear the red and blue and you’re facing those maroon frickers from across the state. Rivalry is the lifeblood of the sport. Otherwise, it’s just NFL Lite.

I would rather we just act like State doesn’t exist like we do Southern Miss. It would make our lives easier and less stressful. At this point, it’s becoming like playing USM. We stand to lose more if we lose than we gain with a win.

See this is where we differ it is NFL lite now and I’ve come to accept it now that we’ve let that genie out of the bottle forever. The CFB we knew is gone so IMO embrace the suck so to speak.

@HJJ if we win the sec the national will come. I understand how irrational my stance is

Goals for the week.

-score 50+
-give Bentley the ball
-cheer for Vandy, USC, USCe, Purdue, Auburn, Syracuse, and Maryland

Oh good lord they beat us at home two years ago and finished ranked. It’s not like they’ve sucked for ages.

What do we think of attendance Friday?

I think it’s pretty light

Had we beaten Florida I was gonna go and be a part of the celebration of the seniors and to destroy state and send them off into the playoffs

Now? I don’t give a frick and I’ll be at home. They consistently piss away opportunities .

I wonder how many others decide to just stay home as well

It’s the Egg Bowl on a Friday afternoon, and the sun will be shining. Plenty of folks will be there.

Cal and GT too. Threw Ole Miss win on there and you'd get a $100 to win $20 million + parlay on Bovada.

The CFB we knew is gone

I know this isn't you but I wish people would stop crying about the changes, especially when we are a beneficiary of them. The college football that we knew before is that the same small collection of teams won the NC every year for the past 40 years. It was a world of haves and have nots. You have to go all the way back to 1984 and BYU to find a "have not" winning the title. The game changed, the new world of CFB, and allowed the mid level teams, like Ole Miss, to have a realistic shot at a run.

I don't go to games just because we are winning. I go to them to enjoy the game. I only get 7 of them a year and it's a far less shitty experience than the rest of the year without football. I cherish my opportunities to attend a game.

No idea about the crowd size.

But I'll be there because I enjoy going to games and I enjoy oxford. Wish it was gonna be 20 degrees warmer. But the somewhat disappointing season isn't really effecting my enjoyment

I’m hearing there are lots of requests for tickets if other folks aren’t going to use them, and I don’t believe it’s from State fans.
