It is and isn't. Nebraska was specifically kicked out because their Ag research $ percentage wise was too high compared to the rest of the university. They could have easily fixed it by incorporating UNO medical research into their numbers but they chose not to for some reason.

Are you sure that is the case? I know OU can't count their medical center research because it isn't part of the campus.

You're correct. The UNO medical center is part of the state system, but a separate entity. The same relationship as UMSL and Mizzou.

I wouldn't say nothing. Research dollars and academics go hand-in-hand with each other.

They are but there is a way to make them under the same umbrella. Facilities don't have to be on the same campus. It is all paper magic.

Mizzou has several facilities not in Columbia that get managed by the Columbia campus.

I will say this: The SEC might be the only conference that could control Texas. If they can, then it's a win for everybody. The SEC becomes the unchallenged monster of CFL.

It's all or nothing, if they can maintain one school one vote, this can work. If not, the whole thing burns to the ground.

I guess the dice are rolling.

It appears A&M is taking actions against the Sec. LINK

Maybe they want to go to the B1G if ut is coming and by filing, they can force the SEC to let them go without penalty. Other than geography, they would be a good athletic and academic fit and give the B1G a footprint in TX.

This is all really kind of funny. The idiots who want us gone are loving Texas coming over. Texas has three conference skins under its belt. I don’t know why these idiots don’t think it’ll add a fourth at some point.

I don't understand why Mizzou would say Yes.

I don't either.

We see what the SEC brand is doing for Jimbo and A&M and Drink is just starting to tap into the power too.

Texas and Oklahoma joining undercuts all that. If they go anywhere else Mizzou has chance. Otherwise it's going to be back to player developement of lesser Texas players and beating the bushes of the border states.

I'll say this if anyone can compete with them it's Drink, but it'll be like rolling a boulder uphill.

I hate Texas and don’t want them BUT they will not run roughshod over the SEC.

Good for them. I hope they win. It sounds like the SEC has gone back on some promises made.

I've been off the board for a while because I'm getting my parent's house ready to sell. Its been a nightmare and I'll leave it at that.

I loathe Texas. I mean, yeah, sure, nice to beat them, but I loathe Texas. They are a poison pill. I'm not sure that even the SEC can control their self destructive tendencies. They could frick up a wet dream.

I'm not particularly keen on Oklahoma either. Texas might have screwed the pooch but Oklahoma was cheerfully holding the dog down while Texas did the deed.

The only prediction I will make is that if we go to the pod system Arkansas will inevitably wind up in the absolute worst position. The football gods have a hard on for us.

Bingo. This is what the dingbats on the Rant don't understand. They think the SEC is almighty and indestructible (which I can understand based on recent history), but the fact of the matter is if anyone can ruin it it's Texas like you said.

Nailed it on OU too. They sold their souls and helped Texas do whatever they pleased. They are fully complicit in helping Texas kill the Big 12.

Kevin Sumlin recruited very well before Jimbo. Fact is, if Texas or OU wants a kid, we have little chance unless he is local.

Oddly enough, this helps us with Burden. Why go to OU and play for a team looking to go to the best conference. Just come play in the SEC now!

Mizzou improves their roster by keeping kids home. That is the key. Keep Notre Dame, and Ohio State the hell out.

Still, let us enjoy the sight of Kansas twisting in the bitter wind.
